Maggie, Mo & Honey — the ultimate puppy school girl gang šŸ’•šŸ¾

These three besties show up every week ready to learn, play, and cause just a little bit of chaos together šŸ˜‚ From practicing their manners to hyping each other up, they’ve become the cutest little trio around. We’re so proud of how far these girls have come already and can’t wait to watch their friendships (and training!) keep growing 🦓✨

I took Summit to New Brunswick this past weekend to attend the MQHA Equine Review—and I couldn’t be prouder of him 🤩

From start to finish, he showed off all the hard work he’s been putting into his training. New environment, new animals, he even met the grinch with no hesitation… and he handled it all like an absolute pro. Settled, focused, and taking everything in stride.

He truly aced every expectation I had for him and proved just how capable and adaptable he’s becoming. Watching him step up like that in a busy setting is exactly why we put so much emphasis on proper, consistent training.

He was an absolute superstar all weekend šŸ’›

If you’re looking to build this kind of confidence and reliability in your own dog, message us now to book your training!

Early grooming exposure is one of the most overlooked pieces of raising a well-rounded dog—but it makes a huge difference āœ‚ļøšŸ¾

Introducing puppies to grooming at a young age helps them learn that being handled, brushed, bathed, and touched all over their body is normal and safe. Instead of fear, you build confidence.

Dogs who are positively exposed early are more likely to:
• Stay calm for nail trims, baths, and brushing
• Be comfortable with strangers handling them
• Avoid fear-based reactions like pulling away, thrashing, or snapping
• Require less stress and restraint during appointments

It’s not just about keeping them clean—it’s about creating a dog who can be safely cared for throughout their entire life.

A few minutes of gentle, positive exposure now can prevent years of stress later—for both you and your dog.

Hit up Country Dogs Daycare to book your pup’s first grooming experience and set them up for success 🐶✨

Building the foundations that make everyday life smoother šŸ™Œ

This week we worked on leash manners (no pulling, staying engaged), door manners (waiting calmly instead of rushing), and coordination (learning how to move their body with intention and confidence).

It might look simple, but these skills create a dog who can navigate the world calmly, safely, and with you—not against you. 🐾

Willow putting in the work on his kennel skills 🐾

We’re teaching him that going into the kennel is just as important as waiting to be released from it. No rushing out, no chaos—just calm, clear boundaries.

This little guy is learning that patience pays off, and his kennel is a safe, positive space šŸ’›

One of the easiest ways to build training into your puppy’s day? Use their meals 🐾

Instead of putting food in a bowl and calling it done, turn mealtime into a training opportunity. Your puppy is already motivated—they want that food—so it’s the perfect time to reinforce good habits and start building communication.

You can use their kibble to:
• Reward calm behavior
• Practice basic commands like sit, down, and place
• Build engagement and focus
• Work on leash skills or recall
• Introduce new environments in a positive way

It doesn’t have to be complicated. Even hand-feeding while asking for simple behaviors can go a long way in shaping a well-mannered, responsive dog.

Plus, it helps prevent picky eating and teaches your puppy that food comes through you—which builds value in working with you.

Training doesn’t always have to be a separate session. Sometimes, it’s just about using what you’re already doing in a more intentional way šŸ’›

Sleep isn’t just ā€œdowntimeā€ for dogs—it’s one of the most important pieces of their overall well-being 🐾

Puppies especially need a LOT of quality sleep (often 16–20 hours a day!) because it’s when their brains develop, their bodies grow, and everything they’re learning starts to stick. Without enough rest, it’s much harder for them to focus, regulate emotions, and make good choices… which often shows up as biting, zoomies, or just seeming ā€œout of control.ā€

But it’s not just puppies—dogs of all ages rely on proper rest. Quality sleep helps with:
• Learning and memory (huge for training!)
• Emotional regulation
• Physical recovery and health
• Lower stress levels

An overtired dog can look a lot like an untrained dog. If your dog is struggling, one of the first things to look at is their sleep routine.

Creating a calm environment, using a kennel or designated rest space, and building structured downtime into your dog’s day can make a huge difference. Rest is just as important as exercise and training—it’s where everything comes together.

Don’t underestimate the power of a good nap šŸ’›

Willow the little pug is spending some time with our friends over at Country Dogs Daycare for boarding—and while he’s there, he’s also putting in some work with me 🐾

This young guy is learning that his kennel can be a safe, calm place and building confidence in his routine each day. We’re focusing on creating positive associations, adding structure, and helping him settle so he can feel more secure both here and at home.

He’s still all puppy at heart, but he’s already making progress and figuring things out one small win at a time. Can’t wait to see this little guy continue to grow šŸ’›
