Nothing says summer fun like bobbing for apples! 🍎💦

Our Puppy School students had an absolute blast cooling off by dipping their noses into a tub of cool water to fish out some tasty treats. Not only is it a fun confidence-building enrichment activity, but it’s also a great way to help dogs cool down on warm days.

A dog’s nose and face have lots of blood vessels close to the surface, so splashing and dipping into cool (not ice-cold) water can help lower their body temperature more efficiently than you might think. Plus, it’s mentally stimulating, encourages problem-solving, and gives those busy puppy brains a healthy challenge!

Who says learning can’t be delicious? 🐶🍎💙

Houston has had quite the first Big Ex! 🐴❤️

When we came to Bridgewater, I honestly had zero expectations. This is Houston’s first big exhibition and I just wanted to have fun with him, let him experience the show atmosphere and see how he handled everything.

Well… he definitely exceeded anything I could have expected! 😂

Houston came home with In-Hand Mini Horse Champion and I couldn’t be more proud of this little guy! 🏆 He has taken everything this week in stride and has been such a good boy through all the new sights, sounds and craziness that comes with the Big Ex.

Of course, we had to celebrate with a candy apple because apparently being a champion means you get spoiled. 😂🍎

A huge thank you to Breanna for trusting me with Houston and giving me the opportunity to take the lead on his show career. I’m having so much fun with this little guy and I’m pretty excited to see where we can go with him.

And let’s be honest… we’re just getting started! 🏆🐴

We’re still here until Sunday, so if you’re at the Big Ex, come find us and say hi to the ponies! Stop by, take some pictures, give the minis some love and congratulate them on a job well done! ❤️

Before we know it, it’s show season! 🐴❤️

Eager Ears K-9 Training will be closed from July 24 to August 3 while we head to the Bridgewater Exhibition for a very exciting milestone—Houston’s first big show! We’re incredibly excited to see him gain experience, make memories, and (hopefully!) have a little fun along the way.

During this time, all classes, walks, and appointments will be paused, and messages may take a little longer than usual to answer. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we cheer Houston on!

We’ll be back on August 4, ready to jump right back into training with all of our amazing pups. Thank you for your continued support, and wish Houston luck! 🍀🐴🐾

Meet Bailey… affectionately known as “Bailey Badness.” 😂🐾

She’s currently so tiny she fits beside our treat jar like she belongs there! Don’t let her size (or those innocent eyes) fool you! She’s got enough personality to keep everyone entertained. Bailey has joined puppy obedience class to channel all that adorable chaos into good manners… and maybe convince the grandkids she’s earned a new nickname. ❤️

We have a feeling “Bailey Badness” is going to become “Bailey Best Girl” before long! 🐶✨

Surviving the Teenage Puppy Stage 🐾😅

Just when you thought you had the perfect puppy… they hit their teenage phase.

Suddenly they “forget” every cue they’ve ever learned, selective hearing becomes an Olympic sport, the zoomies are stronger than ever, and making good choices? That’s apparently optional. 🙃

The truth is, this stage is completely normal. Your puppy isn’t being stubborn or trying to give you a hard time, they’re growing up! Just like human teenagers, they’re testing boundaries, gaining confidence, and learning how to navigate the world.

The key to getting through it?
🐶 Stay consistent.
🐶 Keep training fun and rewarding.
🐶 Lower your expectations a little on the hard days.
🐶 Celebrate the small wins.
🐶 Remember that this phase won’t last forever.

The dogs who become amazing family companions aren’t the ones who never struggled, they’re the ones whose owners kept showing up, even on the frustrating days.

If your “angel puppy” has suddenly transformed into a furry little gremlin… you’re not alone. Stick with it. Your future dog will thank you for the time and patience you put in now. ❤️

✨ Something NEW is coming to Eager Ears K-9 Training! ✨

Training doesn’t have to end after puppy class or obedience!

We’re excited to introduce our Biweekly Trick Club; a fun, relaxed class designed to keep you and your dog learning together all year long.

🐾 Meet every other week
🐾 Learn new tricks and skills each class
🐾 Build confidence, focus, and teamwork
🐾 Keep your dog’s mind active with fun challenges
🐾 Meet other dog lovers in a supportive environment

This isn’t just about teaching cute tricks (although there will be plenty of those! 😉). Trick training is a fantastic way to strengthen your bond, improve your dog’s focus, build confidence, and provide the mental enrichment every dog needs.

Whether your dog is a puppy, an adult, or already knows a few tricks, everyone is welcome! We’ll work at each dog’s individual pace, making this a positive and rewarding experience for every team.

Monthly membership includes two classes each month.
