We noticed a few weeks back that Bodie would skip every few steps during his walks. We weren't sure if this was a winter thing or a Frenchie thing so off we went to the vet.
The vet informed us that he is suffering from something called Patella Subluxation which is a condition where the knees cap moves out of its normal groove.
This can be seen at different levels and currently, Bodie is just a 1. It does not seem to bother him and we only saw it for a few weeks and then it stopped. For this we are grateful.
As a puppy, we had a few scares around limping and decided to adjust his nutrition and lifestyle. We believe this has been a huge contributor to a better life for him.
Keeping him fit is very important and watching what he eats is also key. We feed Bodie:
1. Playful Paw Joint support which is a combo of Atlantic Canadian Sea Kelp, Indian Turmeric Root, and black pepper
2. Omega 3/6/9
3. Salmon skins
4. Green Lipped Mussels
5. Diet containing no additives or preservatives (duck/ turkey/ rabbit, cricket, dandelion root, sweet potato, kale, collards and kelp, sheep kefir, carrots
This has definitely been a journey to get to where we are now and introductions to these items were a slow process due to allergies and reactions.
