Incredible news 🩷🩷

🎉Amazing news for animals in Ontario! Effective January 1, 2027 the province will prohibit the declawing of cats and ear cropping/ debarking of dogs! 🎉

While we are disappointed that canine tail docking wasn’t included in the prohibition, we are thrilled that Ontario’s animals will soon be protected from these three unnecessary cosmetic procedures!

We have a pretty cool anniversary that I accidentally missed. On May 10, 2019, three ducks arrived to the farm following the sudden death of their beloved owner.

Of those three, Ace is still kicking, and at 8 years old, she is Safe Haven's oldest duck on the farm.

She is always the first one in the pool, always fiercely protecting nests, and peeps her way to the front of the line with her sweet little voice whenever she sees snacks being handed out.

Ace is dearly loved, and has been an absolute joy for the last 7 years.

Alabama - named after that opened for at Caesars Windsor last June. Goat Alabama has grown a smidgen since he arrived here last year.

He is 100% HiGGi's spoiled baby - a fact that's been proven everytime he pulls in the driveway, making Bama loudly scream "MA!"

They've been thick as thieves since day one 🐐

The perma-winks 🩵

We had a bit of a rocky patch with Romeo, but he rebounded phenomenally and has been doing very well.

I did notice however, he is now nearly completely deaf. A minor setback, for such a loveable old man.

He's loving his time in the sun every afternoon, and has been enjoying the warmer weather in the catio when he asks - not politely by the way, he sort of forces himself out the door.

I'm glad we're getting some extra time with him, especially with Auggie and George becoming so attached now. We're keeping a very close eye on this senior, and making sure comfort and pain-free living is still #1 for him 🩵
