Welcome little man!!!

A New Adventure Awaits
Meet our newest protégé, Quest, a 11-month-old male purebred Dutch Shepherd who is ready for a fresh start.
This boy is not up for adoption yet.
He was surrendered to the rescue after a decline in a family member's health meant they could no longer provide the active life he deserves. While his family made the difficult, selfless choice to find him a new adventure, the transition wasn't easy. He struggled significantly in the loud, high-stress environments of the SPCA and boarding kennels.
Now that he is safe in his foster home with Evolve Canine Coaching and Taylor Warren, he can finally breathe. With a great foster family to guide him, he is receiving the structure and decompression time he needs to feel secure again. This 11-month-old is full of classic Shepherd potential, and we are excited to help him grow into the incredible dog he was always meant to be.

Une nouvelle aventure commence
Voici notre nouveau protégé, Quest, un Berger Hollandais mâle pure race de 11 mois qui est prêt pour un nouveau départ. Il n'est pas disponible à l'adoption pour le moment.

Il nous a été confié après que le déclin de la santé d'un membre de sa famille a empêché celle-ci de lui offrir la vie active qu'il mérite. Bien que sa famille ait fait le choix difficile et désintéressé de lui trouver une nouvelle aventure, la transition n'a pas été facile. Il a beaucoup souffert dans les environnements stressants de la SPCA et des chenils.

Maintenant qu'il est en sécurité dans sa famille d'accueil, il peut enfin respirer. Avec une famille d'accueil formidable pour le guider, il reçoit la structure et le temps de décompression dont il a besoin pour se sentir à nouveau en sécurité.

⚡️ The Power of Foundation and Place ⚡️

Taking a moment to appreciate the stillness. This is Ember (my Vizsla) and our foster Malinois, Cricket, holding a "Place" command on an uneven surface in a stimulating, outdoor environment.

🚨 CONTEXT: Cricket only joined us last Friday (5 days ago!). This focus is a testament to how quickly dogs respond to clear communication and structured foundation work.

Right before this photo was taken, a dirt bike zipped by right behind us. 🏍️

A successful Place command isn't just about sitting on a rock; it's about impulse control and building a default behavior of calm, no matter the high-level distraction. Super proud of Cricket for maintaining that focus! She's proof that a strong foundation can overcome major environmental challenges, even with minimal time on task.

🐾 Meet Cricket: Our Newest Foster Girl! 🩷
Cricket is a gorgeous, young Belgian Malinois who has traveled all the way from Ontario to join our training pack!

While she spends her time with us, she’ll be learning how to be the very best dog she can be, receiving specialized training and socialization in preparation for finding her perfect forever home.

I am incredibly grateful to for trusting me with this special girl. I can’t wait to share her progress and see her succeed in the future! Stay tuned for updates on her journey!

🧠Utilize Pet-Friendly Stores for Indoor Enrichment🛒

Your local pet supply store, hardware store, or even some department stores (always check their pet policy first!) can be a fantastic, warm environment for a low-impact training session.

Why this works for mental exercise:

• Novelty & Scent: A store is a sensory feast! New sights, sounds, and smells (all those irresistible pet aisles!) engage your dog's brain and satisfy their natural curiosity.

• Proofing Behaviors: It’s a perfect place to practice those basics—like "Heel," "Sit," and "Stay"—with real-world distractions (carts, other people, different flooring). This builds
confidence and reliability in new settings.

• Controlled Socialization: Exposure to new environments and polite greetings with staff or calm patrons is great for maintaining good social skills.

⭐️ Evolve Canine Coaching Tip:
Keep your visits short (5-15 minutes) and focus on one or two simple exercises. End on a high note with a successful cue and a jackpot of treats! Make it a positive experience, and your dog will be mentally tired in the best way!
