October is Small Business Month, and Scotia Kelp is recognizing it by reflecting on the value of strong relationships.
Secondary education is a big part of the foundation for small businesses and economic growth,🌱 and we’re proud to support the next generation of business leaders through our Partners for Success Initiative with Eastern College.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with talented interns from Eastern College, and their energy, creativity, and dedication have left a lasting impact on our company. Watching them grow and contribute has been inspiring, and we’re grateful for the chance to be part of their journey, and they are a part of our journey as well.
As a small business, the interns give us fresh perspectives, educate us on up to date tools and share their valuable knowledge. By giving interns the opportunity to show and hone their skills in a positive workplace environment, giving them real world practical experience, they have made significant contributions to various aspects of our company and we truly value and appreciate their input.
Receiving the 2024 Employer of the Year award from Eastern College was an incredible full-circle moment for the founder of Scotia Kelp Products, Darron Hill, who is a former student. We strongly believe that giving back, sharing knowledge and working together to achieve a common goal helps develop strong alliances and builds bridges between educators and the small business community. In this ever changing and uncertain time, by working together we can promote, support and grow our small business sector which is essential to the health and vitality of all Canadian communities.
