I had the absolute privilege of being part of group of local artists that are volunteering their time and talent to create portraits of the animals and homes lost during the recent wildfires.

I had the honour of drawing Jenny. Jenny escaped the wildfires, but incurred an injury during the escape that she could not recover from.

This portrait is most detailed portrait that I have done to date. I spent extra time and care in drawing Jenny. My average portraits take 10/12 hours to do. This specific portrait totalled 28 hours.

I want to thank
for creating, organizing and managing such a worthwhile event. Forever grateful for being included and a part of a group of such amazing artists.

A group of 25 artists have volunteered to create art for those who lost houses and pets in a devastating wildfire last month, which destroyed 150 homes in the Halifax-area communities of Upper Tantallon and Hammonds Plains.
