This is Roscoe! 🐾 He’s one of the collies from the Zada Bronx Penny Collie family, and he is such a sweet guy. 💜

I’m not sure how much grooming experience Roscoe has had before, so today was a bit of a “getting to know you” appointment and figuring out which parts of the process he was comfortable with.

And honestly, he surprised me with some of it! The bath was no problem, he settled onto the table nicely, and even the high-velocity dryer—which can be a pretty strange experience for dogs—didn’t bother him much at all.

Once we moved on to brushing, feet and nails, Roscoe was a little less convinced. 😂 He’s definitely sensitive about having his feet handled and had plenty to say when we got to the things he wasn’t so sure about. We skipped cleaning his ears because he deals with allergies, and otherwise just worked through his groom with a little extra patience and gave him the opportunity to figure out what was happening.

Roscoe really is a lovely, sweet dog. Grooming might not be his favourite activity just yet, but that’s okay. Sometimes it takes a few visits for dogs to learn the routine, build some confidence and realize that all this brushing and foot touching really isn’t so terrible.

And despite having a few opinions along the way, he left clean, brushed out and looking very handsome. 🥰💜

Meet Henry! 🖤

When Henry booked in, I really had no idea what to expect. I was told he was a Border Collie/Aussie/German Shepherd cross, so naturally I had about 47 different possible dogs pictured in my head. 😂 And then this sweet little guy walked through the door.

Henry is just lovely. He’s sweet, gentle, easygoing, and apparently completely fine with whatever a grooming appointment throws at him.

Blow dryer? Yep, that’s fine.
De-shed? Go for it.
Brush out what felt like an entire second Henry hiding in his undercoat? No problem.

And he had so much undercoat. The kind of coat that makes a de-shed ridiculously satisfying. We got a ton of hair out of him, got him all cleaned up and fluffy, and he was such a good boy through the whole thing.

He left looking ever so handsome, and I’m already looking forward to seeing this sweet little mystery mix again. 🖤🐾

Meet Finn 🐾💜

When Finn got here, we headed straight for the tub… and he was quite unimpressed with that whole situation.

While I was bathing him, I told him, “Oh buddy, this isn’t even the worst part. Wait until you see what the blow dryer is like.”

Turns out, I was right. 😂

We got him towel dried and onto the grooming table, which Finn was perfectly happy with. He hopped up, laid down and was ready to carry on with his day.

Then I brought out the high-velocity dryer.

Or, as Finn would come to know it: the loud snake.

I started around his bum and at first he was suspicious but tolerant. He clearly didn’t trust this loud snake hanging around his backside, but he let me work for a few minutes.

And then he decided the snake had to die.

If you’ve ever seen those videos of dogs trying to bite the high-velocity dryer… that was Finn. 😂 Sometimes they bite at it a couple times, realize it isn’t going anywhere and eventually let you continue.

Not Finn.

Five minutes later, he was still fully committed to destroying it.

So we changed plans! He finished drying in the crate and then we did a little stand drying while I worked on him. Everything else about his groom? Perfect. He was an absolute angel.

He’s also a ridiculously sweet guy. He likes to lean his head against you, put his paw on you, give kisses and, of course, eat snacks.

But the best part came after his groom.

When I’m finished with a dog, I usually use the high-velocity dryer to blow any loose hair off my clothes before I go meet their parents. Finn was still on the table while I started blowing the hair off myself.

Apparently this was unacceptable.

Finn immediately went into protection mode.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. THE LOUD SNAKE CANNOT TOUCH HER.

As I’m trying to blow the hair off myself, Finn is grabbing the dryer hose and pulling on it, fully prepared to fight this thing to the death to save me. 😂

So thank you, sweet Finn, for bravely protecting me from the very dangerous loud snake today.

I couldn’t have survived it without you. 💜🐾

📅 OCTOBER IS ALREADY BOOKING! 🐾

Just a little heads-up — I’m currently booking into October 11th! 😳

If you’re hoping for an October appointment, now is the time to inquire. My schedule has been filling up quickly, and with limited evening and weekend availability, those spots disappear fast.

Whether your pet is due for a full groom, bath & brush, deshed, or you just want to keep them on their regular schedule, send me a message and we’ll get you booked. 💜💚

And yes… I know we’re talking about October while it’s still August. Apparently this is my life now. 😂

Meet Scout 🥔💜

This little guy’s name is Scout, but ever since he was a puppy, I’ve just called him Potato. Because really, that’s basically what he is — a potato with two big, beautiful ears. 😂

Scout is just over a year old and he is such a lovely little Frenchie. His groom was pretty uneventful — no real fuss about anything, lots of kisses, and plenty of the usual Frenchie grumbles and snorts.

And can we talk about watching a French Bulldog eat tiny treats with those big floppy mouths? 😂 It might genuinely be one of the cutest things on earth. I could sit there and listen to this little potato snort and chomp snacks all day.

He’s also such a neat colour. He’s brindle, but almost this mix of peachy tones and grey that makes him really unique and SO pretty.

Basically: cute, grumbly, snorty, snack-loving potato. 🥔🐾💜

Remember best boy BJ? Well, meet his namesake’s namesake… Bandit, the original! 😂💜

At some point I did learn that BJ actually stands for Bandit Junior, but what I somehow missed was that there was an actual Bandit — and that Bandit is BJ’s brother. So, mystery solved. This is him!

Bandit came in today for a bath and brush, and I need you to understand that this dog has the frothiest fur I have ever encountered. 😂 He was SO satisfying to bathe. I genuinely could have kept him in the tub for his entire appointment just fluffing and frothing up his coat. I would have been perfectly content. Bandit probably would have had some objections eventually, but I was having a great time.

He had a pretty good amount of undercoat ready to go, so once we got downstairs we created a bit of a furnado. 🌪️ Got all that loose coat blown and brushed out, tidied up the little bit of extra fluff around his feet — not quite full-blown Grinch feet, but they were heading in that direction — and got him looking handsome again.

Much like BJ, his actual groom was pretty uneventful. He’s just a lovely, easy guy. We had some kisses, a little bit of cuddling, and Bandit made it very clear that snacks were an important part of the grooming experience. 😂

Sweet boy, satisfying coat, excellent snack enthusiasm. I can definitely see the family resemblance. 💜

Meet Diesel 💜

Do you ever have those moments where a dog walks in and you immediately think, I’m about to have the best couple hours of my day? Because that was exactly what went through my head when I saw Diesel — and he did not disappoint.

This lovely man is 13 years old, which I honestly would never have guessed. You would not know it at all. He’s still got that young-pup energy, and he is just an absolute sweetheart.

Diesel came in for a good de-shed, and we got a whole lot of coat out of him. The blow dryer definitely wasn’t his favourite part of the experience, so naturally he treated me to some classic husky songs while I worked. 😂 We had some very good conversations about it, mixed in plenty of cuddles, and eventually got all that loose coat blown and brushed out.

I absolutely adore this dog. He was such a lovely old man to spend a couple hours with, and I’m already hoping I get to see him again the next time he starts blowing his coat. 💜

Diesel, you can come sing husky songs to me anytime. 🐾

🐾 Mia & Sweet Pea are back! 🐾

Everybody should recognize these two by now! Our sister duo, Miss Mia and her baby sister Sweet Pea, are back for another visit. 💜

These girls are on a regular grooming schedule, so I’m lucky enough to see them pretty much every month. We alternate their appointments — one visit they get the full cat bath & brush treatment, and the next we keep things simple with nails, ears, and a really good brush. Then it’s back to bath day the following visit!

And these two are just lovely.

Sweet Pea is living up to her name. She is SUCH a sweet kitten — incredibly loving, curious about absolutely everything, full of energy, and always ready for some attention. She’s growing into such a beautiful little lady, and it’s so fun getting to watch her grow up.

Then there’s Miss Mia. 😂 I’m not entirely convinced Mia would personally book herself a spa day, but she is incredibly tolerant of the whole process. No attitude, no drama, no major complaints. She’s good in the tub, good on the table, lets me do what I need to do, and then carries on with her day. 😂

They’re both beautiful, cuddly, very good girls, and having them on a regular schedule means their coats, skin, nails and ears stay maintained without needing a huge grooming session every time.

See you next month, ladies. 💜🐾

🐾 Meet Murphy! 🐾

This sweet boy came in for a good clean-up, and he had a whole lot of fur ready to go. 😂 We got a pretty impressive amount out in the bath with the curry brush, and then it was off to the grooming table to finish the job.

Murphy was another one of those wonderfully easy dogs. He was so good for everything and just an all-around sweet guy. We blew out all that loose coat, brushed out even more hair, did his nails, and got the whole shebang done. By the end, he was looking shiny, feeling fresh, and hopefully a few pounds lighter in fluff. 😂

Then we headed out onto the deck to wait for Mom, which is where Murphy really sealed the deal. He curled right up beside me with his paws and his head in my lap and settled in for some cuddles. At that point, I was kind of hoping Mom might run a little late because I was perfectly happy to sit there and soak them up. 🥹💜

Such a lovely boy from start to finish. Thanks for spending the day with me, Murphy! 🐾💜
