Hello Everyone,

All of us at Take the Lead Dog Obedience hope you had and are still having a wonderful summer. Fall is quickly creeping up which means lots of activities will be starting.

If you are looking for a fun night out with your dog where you will be building that much desired bond, earning your dog’s trust and taking on that leadership role then please consider signing up for our level 1 classes. We hold our classes at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Devon.

I will be starting to organize our classes very soon so I suggest, if you are interested, that you contact me, right away, to get on our list. Our level 1 best fits dogs 4 months old and up.

We are all set up at the SPCA Dawg Days of Summer in the Picaroon’s Courtyard.

Bring your friends and family and come visit us. We will love to see lots of people. We are here until 4:00.

Hello Everyone,

We wanted to let you know that Take the Lead will be taking part in the SPCA Dawg Days of Summer this coming Saturday July 25th in the Picaroon’s outdoor courtyard. The event runs from 11:00-4:00.

We would love to have you come visit us at our booth where we can give you some information on our classes, you can pickup a business card or a rack card, there will be some people and dog treats, check out our poster to see if you recognize anyone and if you are interested, you will also be able to signup for our classes. Our next sets of classes will be in October but please do not wait until then to signup.

Take note that the fireworks are scheduled for 10:40 tonight. Please do all you can to protect your canine family member(s) from what can be a fearful time created by the loud, explosive bursts.

We met at the Small Craft Aquatic Centre and went in a different direction. We went along the trail away from town, behind Government House towards the Delta. It was a beautiful trail ! It was shorter walk than usual but actually worked out really good because we were seeing a light show in the sky and hearing some rumblings.

Next Wednesday’s walk will be our last walk until we start again in the fall. It would be so nice to have a good turnout for that walk. I do have to apologize, in advance, because unfortunately, Rowdy and I have a standing commitment to visit York Care Centre that evening therefore we are unable to go on the walk.

We invite all of our staff and all of our students to join the group walk. Please consider our social walk.

Another small group on a hot night. There was a nice breeze along the river which made our short walk very pleasant.

Only two more evening walks to finish out the month of June. We will be taking the summer off and resuming again in the fall.

We invite our staff and all of the students who have completed a set of our classes. Come on out and join us.

WE ARE GRATEFUL

Since we began TAKE THE LEAD DOG OBEDIENCE just 18 months ago in January 2025, enrollment in our training programs has reached a total of 160 dog/handler teams in 5 sets of classes ! We are privileged to have been chosen to help guide so many dog owners on their obedience training journey and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with so many wonderful, responsible owners. Thank you for placing your trust in us!

We are also grateful for the support and encouragement of so many others including dog health care professionals, other trainers, past and returning graduates and the community at large.

We also want to thank St. Mary’s Anglican Church for allowing us to use their church hall which serves as an excellent training venue for our classes.

Finally, we want to recognize our amazing training team members who work with us to deliver effective programs at every class to every participant. The commitment of our Assistants to our students’ success sets them apart and is the cornerstone of our program. They are the best!

June marks the end of our Winter and Spring training programs; we will resume obedience classes in October.
