Aaaand .. they are off to a great start!
Certainly not a perfect take. But considering this batch being a haphazard truck tailgate graft in the wind and them being stuffed into a fresh builder that was still flustered … not bad at all. 😉👍

The colonies overwintered in milder spot have done well. The others also did OK, but it was a loooong winter with losses. For the folks who have contacted early to get onto the reserve list for nucleus colonies, the apiary is in great shape 👍 - I will be in touch when I am in process of staging the colonies for release. Which is pending continuing good weather and completing another round of inspections. That typically lines out about May 10 onwards.

Nice to see … finally. This backyard colony was “dead” quiet all winter. Figured would be a cleanout and restart when the snow melts. Nope - they were just chillaxing the whole time. Today they came out to say “Hi”. … and to p**p paint the snow all round the yard, LoL.

Q: "Got Bees?" ... A: "Yuuuup!"
Despite the lengthening days and a couple of chinooks -- It is still way early in the Northern parts here to get excited. So cool the jets. That said - it is time to get started on putting the bits and pieces together to get your 2026 beekeeping plans in motion.
So far so good, the colonies have managed through the winter. While they are still tightly huddled and dormant at this time, a quick peak in shows they are looking great. They have another month of full on winter to get through tho.
Yes folks, there will be Paradis Apiaries honeybee nucleus colonies available. After spring work and health inspections the bees will be prepared and release for pickup. Timing depends entirely on when Spring actually arrives, though typically it irons out for the nucleus colonies to be ready for pickup FSJ at about May 8 thru May 30.
My bees are first reserved - first served, and only while the limited quantities are available. Meaning if you will be wanting some bees for May ... you need reach out very soon, directly to my phone/email or by FB msg, to get details on how to get on that reserve list.
