We're pretty excited about this litter! Picard is due June 8th, 2025 with her first litter. Picard is athletic, healthy, always wants to please, and is happy every single day. This girl has never met a stranger since she instantly loves everyone and her enthusiasm is boundless! She has so many fans. If you follow us, you know that she is Shawn's shadow and they are the cutest couple when doing agility or just hanging out. She's a cuddly and talkative little turkey and I'll admit I was surprised when she also wanted to help move the sheep. She's remarkably good, with admittedly no training in that department. She's just so keen to please. Picard is BAER tested normal hearing, her eyes tested normal/normal by a board certified Veterinary ophthalmologist, her hips are OFA Good and her shoulders and elbows are OFA normal and she is tested completely clear for all 213 diseases tested for on the Wisdom Panel.
We were really particular about a stud dog for Picard. We wanted something different. We wanted a talented and sensible working dog who was level headed, who also had a great personality and an off switch when not working. We wanted all of that and we needed health and genetic clearances as well. And Ace delivered on all counts!
Here is what Ace's owner says about him: Ace has a strong will to please, stays focused, forward with a medium eye and is ready to work at the drop of a hat. He has no quit in him and will give it his all until he gets it right. He thinks on his own while still being a good partner on the field and taking commands. He is kind and honest when on stock. The one thing I do love is that he is just a little less extra and a little more thoughtful. It’s a really nice combination with his drive when he is engaged. His enthusiasm and fun-loving attitude is so much fun to be around and work with, he hasn’t got a mean bone in his body. This dog has a spirit like very few other dogs and he will make friends anywhere and everywhere he goes. His offspring are actively competing in sports and working on cow and sheep operations.
Ace's hips were tested using the PennHip system and his score is: 0.32/0.30, which is considered very good for Border Collies and he is also clear on his Optimal Selection panel that tests for genetic diseases.
We were struck by how polite and friendly Ace was and boy oh boy, he's a handsome devil too! We expect some stunning puppies from this combination! Both Picard and Ace also carry red, so we could have a very interesting mix of colours from this litter.
We have a wait list, but we should have room for a few more. If you're interested let us know about what you're looking for in a dog, what life would look like for a pup as a part of your family and what you plan to do with the pup for a job.
As with all of our pups, they will be Canadian Border Collie Association registered and have first vaccines, have been dewormed several times, been vet checked and been mircochipped.
Stay tuned for pictures and updates!
