Good Morning Dexter🤓

Dexter has started our eight session behaviour package this morning. He will be working on his resource guarding, arousal/impulse control, manners in the home and building a soild relationship with his lovely owners! He’s an awesome dude who loves to work, just needs a push into the right direction. We will be using lots of play with him to build trust and confidence. While making sure he follows through with commnds to give him the most clarity in his mind. You will seeing lots of him over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned for more of this super cool dude!

Play is such a powerful tool to have in your training to build a soild relationship. While also being able to give your dog an outlet for mental and physical stimulation. Teaches them how to control themselves which in return can help a number of poor impulsive behaviours.

Welcome little Penny💞 and big man Steve🩵

Penny💞 is a four month old Great Pyrenees she is starting our four session basic package. Here she’s going to learn all about impulse control, everyday manners in the home, settling down and the basics of obedience. She’s got some sass to her but is ready to put in the work with her amazing mama. We will also be setting up some enrichment activities to suit her personal needs as well.

Steve🩵 is already a certified good boy so he will be tagging along her training journey. Dogs can always learn new things at anytime and age!

It’s super important to start your puppy’s training as soon as you can. It helps you both start on the right foot and managing those crazy puppy behaviours the right away. As much as they are cute they can also be stressful, we call this the puppy blues! To help manage your new puppy or looking to get a new puppy we can help you learn the right tools and puppy plan for the most success!

Oh hello pretty Birdie🐦

Birdie🐦 here has been working on her dog reactivity. She was known to be very explosive towards other dogs. Lots of power and energy built up into lots frustration at the end of the leash. She now can successfully demonstrate to be able to make better choices, engage with her owners, and even got to make a new friend. Birdie and her owners have worked very hard at clearing up their communication and understanding of one another while also making training fun. Maturing has also done this girl wonders clearing up her head space and finding better impulse control. Im so beyond impressed of this girl she has a fun and reaction free life ahead of her!

Sometimes our biggest struggles with our dogs is due to them just being young. The tough years are always the teenage ones. That’s your time to put in the work as there is a light at the end of the tunnel with them! Training isn’t linear it’s more of a rollarcoaster, at the end of the day they are animals with their own good and bad days. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything we can do to make it easier!

Handsome man Crue⚡️

Crue⚡️ is the definition of a good well rounded citizen as he’s been hard at work to become a service dog for his veteran dad and emotional support for elderly folks in homes! He has the right mind and attitude for the job. This kind of training and work takes alot of dedication and discipline from owners. Crue and his dad are on a good path to success. I look forward to what his career holds for him.

Here we want to not only see every dog succeed but also every owner! It’s so incredibly important that you as an owner and handler have the right tools and skills to be successful working your dog. We are not quick fix trainers, we are life time support and guidance. Your coach to remind you when you need to relax, be fun and enjoy your training process! We take pride in seeing teams thrive.

Apprentice appreciation!

Hello everyone I wanted to introduce Adisyn and no better day than her birthday to do it! She is a vital part of my team here at Zealous K9 for Lloydminster clients! For those who don’t Adi, she has shadowed underneath me for the last two years and often comes to join client sessions to learn and be apart of your training journey. She has a three year old German shepherd named “M” together they love competing in Barn Hunt. M also helps be a safe dog for clients to work around! Adi also has certificates in K9 first Aid and the Karen Pryor Academy. She has proven herself to make a fantastic dog trainer with a strong career ahead of her. Adi has taken pride in her training and education to give you the very best!

We will now be opening up the chance to have practice sessions to help you along with your homework. These sessions are for pre existing clients who need a safe person and or dog to work around. As we understand with reactivity it’s hard to find safe spaces to practice. If you have a puppy that needs to be properly socialized or an extra set of eyes on your handling she is there to help! Murphy❄️ and Betzie☀️ the cutest doodle pair!

These two cuties have started their training journey! In the recent couple months Murphy has started to struggle with dog reactivity and some insecurity with himself. He will be learning to make better choices around other dogs and building some confidence in himself! Murphy is a busy body and loves to learn, he already has a fantastic obedience foundation and great relationship with his owners. He is going to kick butt in his program!

Betzie is a pretty chill girl with just a bit of anxiety but has been able to work through most of it on her own. She will be a good helping hand for her brother as shes dog neutral. Betzie is also eager to learn and is a champ with her obedience skills. She will be working along side her brotherr while building some confidence!

They both rocked their first session and look forward to what their training journey holds! Stayed tuned for more of Murphy and Betzie!

Nellie🌻 update!

Nellie has been home for quite some time now and is rocking it! She’s been able to free roam her home without going after the dogs she lives with, hanging out in the store happily, enjoying off leash freedom and is no longer reactive or taking off! Her and amazing mama have been training hard on her stays and off leash walking. Keeping up with her program!

As your trainer I’m always here to support you and your dog in anyway I can for their lifetime! That being said you also have to practice and keep up with your training! Like any skill you have to work at it to keep it, dogs are the same way. When you do a board and train we do the hard stuff for you so your dog is at a good place for you to take over. Practice makes progress!

Jayden is at the The Lloydminster Pet Pad Inc where you can find all the goodies like rufflands, Cato boards and now canine fitness equipment! She is also happy to answer any questions or talk about Nellie’s training experience with me.

I’m also in LLOYDMINSTER currently and booking sessions till July 6th if any of my Lloyd peeps are looking for some training!

Coco🥥 has finished up her board and train here at Zealous K9! I’m so beyond proud of this girl she absolutely kicked butt in her program! She is an official graduate!

She was working on her reactivity, manners, handler focus and being social. Independence is strong in this lady which can be difficult when working with issues but she worked very hard building her engagement and understanding of one another. With clarity in communication she was able to understand what her expectations are while still being able to make her own choices in the correct direction.

Coco was also able to experience so much with her training going to all sorts of new places and making so many new people and dog friends along the way. Here we want your dog to enjoy life to the fullest while in their program. Training is make life enjoyable for you and your dog. If you’re struggling with her dog and building a better relationship with them let us know so we can help.

I’ll sure miss this girl but I’m happy to see her back home for the future for her and family to enjoy! Much love girl! 🥥💜

Coco🥥 has been hard at work! We train rain or shine!

She has come such a long way with a little bit left to go. Coco has been able to self regulate better and work more as a team. She’s been able to make better choices and settle when things don’t involve her. One of her biggest struggles is recalling off the all mighty squirrels which she has been able to ace with flying colors. Learned to be neutral around other dogs and actively searchs for handler aproval.

She was very much a self serving in her own world kind of dog but with some guidance and help from other dogs she’s learned working as a team is enjoyable!

Big Coco🥥update from the last couple of days she has some big adventures! She has been hard at work enjoying the big city life while also having fun and making new friends at the lake!

She has officially been intergraded into my pack learning social skills. How to keep her cool when something doesn’t involve her. Made some new friends at the lake. Learning that it’s okay to be away from people when they might be busy. She’s had little to no reactions out and about. Her obedience and play skills are coming along very nicely.

Board and train dogs truly become like one of my own here. They build skills in their real and everyday life unlike in a training facility where everything is done in a clean box. They come with everywhere I go, do fun activities with my family pack all while building their training and skills. We keep our board and train size small so we can be more personal with our clients who stay with us.
