This is Frog. He is a toad.
He is smooth-sided like a frog, but bumpy as toads should be.
He climbs…which most toads don’t do?…or do they?
He likes moisture as many frogs do, but is not aquatic.
So no, he’s not a frog.
Yes, he’s acting like one.

These two photos look very different — but they’re showing the same thing: transformation in progress.
The hornworms? They’ve pupated and are quietly rebuilding themselves into moths (we moved them to soil right after this picture was taken).
The silkworms? They’ve spun cocoons and are mid-metamorphosis — no movement, no drama, just biology doing its work.
Here’s the part we love teaching kids (and adults):
🦋 Not all growth looks busy
🦋 Not all stillness means something is wrong
🦋 And not all change is visible while it’s happening
In nature, some of the biggest changes happen underground, wrapped in silk, or hidden in plain sight.
This is why we’re obsessed with life cycles, insects, and reptiles — they remind us that pause is not failure. It’s often the most important stage.

We have fancy schmancy isopod BABIES!!! And, wow we are a little late to the game here but Happy 2026 toooooo!!! This year is an adventure already and I am terrible at social media posts 🫣 but we are still here and still moving forward one step at a time! 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hi from the TARAS Reptile Expo in ! We have our and LIVE for you to come say hi to and even HOLD for pictures if you want!! We have activities, colouring pages, a scavenger hunt, and ! Come check out our boys latest and learn what happens when our reptibabies aren’t living in the right temperatures (hint: when enclosures and our reptiles are too cold, they can’t digest their food properly and the food will ROT in their tummy’s! 😩😭).

We are SO excited to be back and at the next expo we will bring even MORE of our repti-babies!! Who do you want to see next?

Unfortunately this did happen to us at the expo. Business owners be careful out there, take the time to look over your bills before accepting them.

To the Scum Bag passing off fake money at the Edmonton reptile expo

Sham on you. You’re scamming small home businesses and individuals. Not some multinational multi billion dollar company that can absorb the loss.
That fake money literally makes the difference to the little guy, And it hurts.

We have confirmed they successfully hit atleast 4 vendors scamming us all for $300. There may be more that were victims as well.

Hi friends, we’re Kyle and Kimberly! Our journey with reptiles started with a simple truth: these animals bring joy. They make us laugh, spark curiosity, and inspire wonder.
At Slither ‘n’ Such, our mission is to share that joy through:
Breeding High Quality Reptiles with Care – from breeding sought-after Green Tree Pythons and Eastern Indigos to carefully raising stunning isopods and feeders, we put ethics and quality first.
Education – live virtual field trips, classroom resources, and hands-on kits that help students experience reptiles beyond worksheets and fear-based interactions.
Building Community – creating tools and stories that help families, teachers, and reptile enthusiasts see reptiles not as “scary” or “strange,” but as companions in discovery.
Our goal is to build a space where curiosity blooms, where kids can hold science in their hands, and where enthusiasts can find the highest standards in reptile care and breeding. We are so excited to start introducing and featuring some of the animals that we have! Who should we start with? Our Superfire Boa Constrictor? Our Calico Green Tree Python?
