Feels like I am so behind, but maybe it is more about this weather being behind. A lot of things are growing, some started inside and transplanted and some started right in the garden. Finished planting tomatoes today, as much as I tried we still ended up with over a hundred plants 🤷‍♀️ Cucumbers when in today, peppers (most of them going into greenhouse but some will be in garden to see if they do ok), and lastly - corn! Here is a little look. 👀

When you have that special chicken to help you out with every farm job! Ruby (RIR) is always part of everything we do around the yard - digging, building, planting, ect. Today she is operating the big tractor, obviously a very serious chicken job!

How to explain my excitement about these apple blossoms 🤔 well here is the story: while working on a TV show in 2021 I got in a habit of eating an apple on my way home. And when I would get home, I would throw out the core in a wooded area next to our driveway. A couple of years go by and I noticed these trees, they look different from our regular maple, poplar and service berries. Then I clued in, these were my apple cores! I accidentally planted a small orchard lol and now one of these trees is blooming! Just a few blooms, but we may get apples from this mystery apple tree!!!

The cherry tree is alive! The sound of pollinators in that tree is incredible, one of my favourite things about our yard...

It is great to have chickens out and about most of the day, Ruby is doing Ruby things - she is almost never with the flock, she wonders around and supervises yard work, construction or whatever else needed to be done haha
Interesting to see a wasp pollinating red currant 🤔

Eight little fluff balls came home on Wednesday at just 24-48 hours old. Light Sussex. Let’s hope at least half of them are hens 😬🤞🤞🤞
