Prairie Exotics has worked with exotic animals for more than 10 years. With our ambassadors we provide entertaining and education presentations for schools, daycares, scouts groups, birthday parties, corporate events, community events, and more! Before our private tour today we had 2 Sugar Gliders dropped off. They're a bonded brother pair about 5 years old. We used to have a bunch but had to rehome during covid. We often get requests for gliders so they'll be a great addition to our education crew.

Sugar Gliders are marsupials and THEY ARE HORRIBLE PETS!!! But dang they are cute.:)

Our awesome friend Lynda works at QX104 & ALT94.3 radio here in Winnipeg and has helped us with a couple projects. She was able to connect us with the Wild95.3 team in Calgary to run some promotions for our educational outreach.

I took the audio they gave us to make this short commercial. Enjoy and please share both here in Manitoba & Alberta as we expand our educational outreach!

This lovely female Mississippi Map Turtle was taken in by a rescue in Thompson. They weren't able to keep her and asked us to take her in. She flew in yesterday and is now enjoying relaxing in a pond. She'll move outside once the temps are a bit warmer over night.

Kenzi & I went out to the bush near Rennie in the Whiteshell rock crawling and looking for animals! Only found some empty turtle shells and bones of a beaver.

Maan took care of the zoo and parties at home with one all the way in Carberry! We received awesome responses from Maan's parties:

"I just wanted to reach out after our party yesterday and say what a hit it was! The kids (and adults) absolutely loved the animals, everyone thought it was such a fun idea for a birthday party. Popcorn of course was the star of the show!! Thanks again!"

It was a smaller group today but we had a great time at Animal Club! The kids painted some skinks, one of them did a great job replicating the Blue Tongue Skink, Schneider's Skink and Peter's Banded Skink they met during the presentation.

Kenzi did a presentation for a homeschool group this morning and we received this awesome email after:

"This morning was amazing! Everyone enjoyed it so much, Kenzi was so excellent with the kids, we could have listened to her for hours!

One of the Moms in our group was scheduled to lead the Bible teaching time right after Kenzi left. She “just so happened” to plan her lesson around the story of when Jesus quieted the storm, a lesson about how God can help us when we’re afraid. When Kenzi had taken out the tarantula, this particular Mom had started to sweat… spiders were a horrible fear of hers. She then realized this was a perfect opportunity to face her fear of spiders with God… she even touched it! The exact lesson she was planning on teaching the kids. So thanks for providing a real-life example. 😊

We stopped by the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo on our way to Edmonton to stretch our legs and see some animals. The park/zoo is beautiful and they had some cool critters to check out!

We had a great weekend at the Herptile Rescue and Education Foundation Edmonton Reptile Expo! We left home at 1am Friday and made it to Edmonton around 6:30pm after a stop at the zoo in Saskatoon. We had a rediculously busy weekend with people waiting up to 45min in line to see our animals and take pictures with them. Then we drove through the night to get home around 10:30am.

While we were away Maan managed the animals and all 7 birthday parties we had booked. What a busy weekend but it's only going to get busier! Calgary, Edmonton and MedHat are in full swing with bookings coming in and we're triple booking Manitoba! :D
