📣To all friends, family, current clients, future clients, and those on the waitlist:

I’ve had a recent increase in lesson inquiries, and many of you have been added to a waitlist. Please know you have not been forgotten! Everyone is logged with their inquiry date, but placements aren’t always strictly first come, first served. Finding the right horse or pony match for each rider—along with scheduling—plays a big role in availability.

In the meantime, keep an eye on this page for upcoming summer pop-up events. These will be a great for you or your children to spend some time with horses while waiting for a regular spot to open up.

G & M Stables – Looking for Special Ponies & Horses 🐴

As our program continues to grow and evolve, so do our equine needs. We are currently searching for one pony and one to two horses to join our herd long-term.

🐴 Pony Wish List

* Over 12hh (firm requirement – we already have minis)
* Older and quieter the better
* Can have medical needs, special feeding requirements, and be serviceably sound

This pony will have a forever home with us and will be used for:
* Lead-line lessons
* Walk/trot lessons (maximum 3 days/week)
* Bonus if they can canter

🐎 Horse Wish List (1–2 Horses)

Due to increased interest in trail riding, we are looking for trusty, quiet trail horses.
* 15hh or taller
* Safe, steady mount for average adult riders
* Older and quieter the better
* Can have medical needs, special feeding requirements, and be serviceably sound

These horses would:
* Do light work (approximately 1-hour trail rides, maximum 3 days/week) on groomed field edges
* Bonus if suitable for arena work in winter

They would either have a forever home with us, or we are open to a buy-back agreement.

💰 Budget

The budget per animal is low to mid-four figures, or lease.

🌾 About Our Program

Here's a bit about our program. We have our own indoor riding arena right on our farm. Our program is primarily for beginners of all ages who are honestly just enjoying the joy horses can bring to humans. It's about fun, safety, and doing right by the horses.

The horses live outside 24/7 with a buddy in a pen with a shelter and whatever feeding requirements keep them healthy and happy. Every single horse in any program is up to date on farriers, dental care, body work, saddle fit, and feeding program.

If you have a pony or horse that might be a good fit, please reach out. We are happy to provide references from clients, veterinarians, and our farrier.

Also the reason why the arena doesn’t have a clock- here your on horse time, whatever that looks like.

Every time you come through our gate, there’s a sign that says:

“Come in. Close gate behind you.”

Yes, it keeps the horses safe.
But it does something else too.

It’s a pause.
A line between out there and in here.

When you close that gate, you’re not just shutting it behind you. You’re leaving the noise, the rush, the expectations, the endless to-do list on the other side.

You don’t have to be who you’re “supposed” to be in here. You don’t have to carry the worry or the weight of the day.

The horses don’t need any of that from you anyway.

You can always pick it all back up when you leave…
but honestly, we suggest you don’t 🙏

Some good info in here to remember as we get into winter!

Living in Alberta means that several months of cold, winter temperatures is often inevitable. It is important to be prepared so that your equine friends can remain happy and healthy in the cold.

🎃🏆 A big congratulations to G & M student Abby on her very first Match the Clock rounds — Halloween edition! 👻

Abby and Lilly have been practicing for weeks leading up to this event and went on to deliver three beautifully ridden rounds — all while dressed in hand-crafted witch and broomstick costumes! 🧙‍♀️ 🧹

Abby, myself, and a few other are sooo thankful to Lilly’s owner, Amy Hawryluk, for sharing this sweet old granny pony with us.
