Our staff brings with them a wide range of experience and knowledge from all areas of Emergency Management. We specialize in our ability to help foster strong working relationships regionally or locally through all levels of a community. We will travel to your community and provide these services anywhere in Canada. Some services we provide include:

A Tsunami Watch Has been issued for BC Coast, Zones, A,B,C,D Only(Not for Zone E) due to the magnitude 8.7 earthquake that occurred 80 miles (136 km) SE of Petropavlovsk, Kamchatka, Russia. Each First Nation is unique, with its own traditions, languages and ways of being. To honour this, it’s important to provide culturally safe and community-driven Emergency Support Services.

The ESS For Nations initiative is committed to strengthening the emergency response capabilities of Coast Salish Indigenous communities.

ESS for Nations co-founders Christina Kelly, Emergency Program Manager for Leq’a:mel First Nation, and Jenna Noppen, Disaster Recovery Manager at Sumas First Nation were recently recognized with an Emergency Management Exemplary Service Award.

Wildland Fire Management is planning to start annual prescribed burns in the Watson Lake area this spring. Burning could begin as early as May 8 and will continue through the month as conditions allow.

During a prescribed burn, people should expect to see signage and emergency vehicles in the area. When burning grassy areas, smoke can be visible but is usually light and short-lived. Wildfire crews are patrolling the site with enough resources to put the burn out if conditions become unsafe.

Burns will be shared with the public on Yukon Protective Services social media and the Wildfire Hub, accessible from Yukon.ca/wildfires.
