UPCOMING WORKSHOP! Hey folks just a reminder that our workshop Feb 1 will take place indoors however please dress warm as we will be spending some time outside as well and it gets pretty chilly here on the ranch.

BIG NEWS!! We have secured a 7 acre property just outside of Toronto. Bill Dion K9 Training will be relocating by the end of the month. We can accommodate up to 30 dogs at a time and will be offering group obedience classes as well as pack walks and socialization classes in addition to training, board and play, board and train and behavioural rehabilitation. Stay tuned for more information.

Making preparations for the arrival of Butters tomorrow. Butters is a goliath of a dog who is coming to us from a local rescue. He is a 170 pound Neapolitan Mastiff who is as strong as a horse and who has zero training. Some of the issues we are going to work on are his pulling and lunging when on a lead, his lack of respect for people and other animals, his lack of proper social skills when around other dogs, as well as overall obedience training. These next 2 weeks will be crucial for butters, his life depends on the training that we will be doing with him. Due to his sheer size and poor behaviour he is presently unadoptable and at risk for euthanasia. Stay tuned for his arrival and his transformation into a gentle giant.

A treadmill is a great way to provide your dog with both physical and psychological stimulation. It is also great for burning off energy especially during the winter month when many dogs do not get adequate exercise.

Sparky the brown and white dog is a rescue that came to us with extreme dog aggression in addition to many other behavioural issues mostly related to lack of proper socialization. Blanca the golden mix was being evaluated by us as she had been fighting with another dog in her foster home. Achillis the brindle dog is my personal dog, he helps other dogs overcome their insecurities with his calm and balanced demeanour. It's necessary to set rules and boundaries when working with aggressive or reactive dogs so that they feel safe and know someone is there to advocate on their behalf.
