Just a little spot light to some of you who might remember Cruise N Chex aka Troy.
He was my first start to finish show horse and boy was he amazing. To make a long story short he was sold to a great youth and are doing wounderful!
This amazing duo won their local horse show for the 2nd year in a row. Troy now holds a senior, junior horse and 2 intermediate overall high point awards since 2022.
Alyssa’s mom Shona also owns Drifter, the black two year she sent to me to show earlier this summer! The similar personalities between Drifter and Troy is uncanny! It truly means a lot when people believe in your program ❤️

What a Show! Nipawin is where I showed for the first time nearly ten years ago.
The last couple days have been pretty good for both Drifter and Scarlett. We achieved our goal to have good experience and have a good connection. We got to experience the heavy horse wagons, fair rides, and all the other things that go with going to town!
Thank you so muchch Shona, Janice O'Brien and Caitlyn Spratt for all the help at the show and giving me the opportunity to show these talent horses!
Thank you so much to Shellan and all the volunteers for putting the Show on and making it happen!
Drifter- Halter:3,Lunge line 2, and in hand trail 2!
Scarlett- Halter 4, showmanship 3, western pleasure 3, command 2, English pleasure 3, English eq 3

Some days there are good rides, and other bad. However, you can’t take the either one for granted. Regardless if you feel like giving up, smile through it.
Today might have not have been Scarlet and I best rides, but if you know me my goal at every show is to smile and not end up in the dirt. It may have been a dirt wind kinda day, even with some challenging rides it was successful. Getting back to the show world after three years is quickly reminding me that I need to not stress and just enjoy my rides. Find the little wins.
That being said. DRIFTER DID AWESOME!
This little two year old who hasn’t left the farm, got to his first show and came home with his first red ribbon in in hand trail and a 5th in a tough 1-2 yr halter class. This not so little gelding has been a testimate to my very big pile of patience for the first couple weeks of being here. However, the last week he’s come leeps and bounds. Showing his true colors and less baby brain.
Thank you to all the people who helped me today holding horses and getting them and I ready! Thank you so much to all the people who volunteered and putting together the homestead horse show at rosthern! It was so nice seeing some familar faces!
