She was one of 2 kittens in the window of a Main Street Pet Store in Penticton October, 2008. They were closing in 2 days and all un-purchased pets would be taken to the SPCA. She was 8 weeks old with bright orange, white and black markings. (some call her a Calico, others call her a Torti) She was with her brother, who was orange & white striped. Halfway down the block, I expressed my concern tha

t the youngster would be taken to the SPCA and she was "only 20$". I tried to fight the urge to turn around (I had 3 exotic breed cats at home already & didn't need another one, specially a "heinz 57). but it didn't work. We scooted back to the store and seen a young couple cuddling the orange and white kitten outside, they had just purchased him. Devastated to think someone already took the baby, I darted inside the store, she was all alone and scared. I gave the lady a 20$ bill (she didn't even charge me tax) and brought my new bundle of joy "Freckles" home to meet her new family. She was delighted to meet her new siblings, Aura - a Smoke Egyptian Mau, Shugar - a Lylac Point Siamese and Mercedes - a Burmese. She promptly found her way into the hat of "dad's" hoodie, but not before he voiced his opinion "WHAT IS THAT!!??" I explained my worry about her being taken to the SPCA, he rolled his eyes and they bonded. She's definately a Daddy's Girl.....
