About us:
Welcome to Lach Faire! I wanted to first introduce myself. My name is Christine and I have been breeding Wheatens with my husband Doug (aka: resident puppy cuddler and photographer) since 1999. We live in Calgary, Alberta with our Wheatens Maura, Maeve, and Clara.
When I began in the breed, I received valuable mentorship from respected Wheaten breeders Neil O'Sullivan and Nona Mansfield. Through their guidance, and that of many others in the Wheaten community across the US and Canada, I developed my breeding program which emphasizes the importance of health, temperament, and structure of our beloved breed.
Our dogs live a rich and wonderful life with our family, spending their time swimming at the lake, participating in various sports, showing in conformation, and cuddling next to us on the sofa. While they excel in many areas, they are first and foremost, our loving companions at home. The name "Lach Faire" means "warm hearted watchdog" and that is exactly what Wheatens are in our family. They warm our home and hearts, and are always on the lookout for fun!
Our puppies are bred with the same values in mind. The parents are from CKC and AKC Champion lines, health tested, and the puppies are raised in our home following the Puppy Culture method. The dedication and care we put into every litter gives each puppy the best possible start to life.
