👻 Some things are better left spooky. Veterinary care doesn't have to be one of them!

At Onward Veterinary Services, we believe there's something special about caring for pets where they feel most comfortable. 🏡 🐾

Their favourite spot. Their familiar surroundings. Their people right beside them.

For many pets, those little comforts can make a meaningful difference.

Because compassionate veterinary care isn't just about what we do. It's also about how your pet experiences it. 🧡

🎃 Trick or treat? Not for pets! 🍬 🐾

Halloween candy might be a treat for us, but some goodies can be downright dangerous for our furry family members.

Chocolate, sugar-free candy containing xylitol, raisins, and even discarded candy wrappers can cause serious problems for pets.

If your pet gets into something they shouldn't, contact your veterinarian or and emergency veterinary hospital promptly. Don't wait for symptoms to appear.

A little prevention goes a long way toward keeping Halloween fun for everyone! 🧡

Save this reminder before the trick-or-treaters arrive!

Halloween is almost here! 🎃 🐾

While costumes, decorations, and trick-or-treaters are exciting for us, all that extra activity can be overwhelming for our pets.

A few simple ways to help your furry family members feel safe:

🏡 Set up a quiet, familiar space away from the excitement.

🚪 Keep pets secure when answering the door.

🐾 Make sure collars and identification information are up to date.

🦇 If your pet wears a costume, ensure it's comfortable, doesn't restrict movement, and is always supervised.

And remember, not every pet wants to participate in the festivities. Sometimes a cozy spot away from the action is the best Halloween treat of all! 💛

A little behind-the-scenes look at veterinary care, Onward style! 🐾 💛

Every pet has different needs, especially when it comes to comfort, movement, and mobility.

Our in-home rehabilitation services allow us to work with pets in their familiar surroundings, developing an individualized approach to supporting their comfort and quality of life.

From gentle movement assessments to personalized treatment plans, we're here to help pets feel supported through every stage of life.

Because compassionate care should meet your pet where they are. 🏡

Our pets can't tell us when something hurts, and sometimes the signs are easy to miss. 🐾

A dog who suddenly hesitates on the stairs. A cat who stops jumping onto their favourite perch. A pet who seems less interested in playing.

These subtle changes aren't always just part of getting older. They can also be signs of discomfort or changes in mobility.

At Onward Veterinary Services, we believe that noticing the little things can make a meaningful difference in your pet's care.

Have you noticed changes in your pet's movement or behaviour? It's worth discussing with your veterinarian. 🖤💛

🔬 WORTH KNOWING!

Our pets can't always tell us when something isn't quite right.

That's where diagnostic testing can help! Bloodwork, urinalysis, and other laboratory tests can provide valuable information about your pet's health, sometimes before obvious symptoms develop.

Depending on your pet's age, health history, and individual needs, Dr. Morgan may recommend testing to help guide their care.

And with mobile veterinary services, many samples can be collected right in the comfort of your pet's home! 🐾

Here's Renee sharing a little love with the adorable Adora during an in-home veterinary visit. And yes, puppy kisses are always welcome! 🥰

At Onward Veterinary Services, we believe compassionate veterinary care is about more than medical appointments. It's about building relationships, earning trust, and helping pets feel comfortable in their own homes.

Sometimes the best part of our day comes with four paws and a big kiss! 🐶

🍂 Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

Onward Veterinary Services will be closed Monday, October 12 for Thanksgiving.

If your pet needs food or medication before the holiday, please reach out ahead of the weekend so we can help get everything organized.
We hope you and your four-legged family members have a safe, cozy and very happy Thanksgiving. 🧡🐾

For urgent veterinary concerns while we are closed, please contact your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

Thanksgiving dinner smells pretty tempting when you have four paws. 👀

If you’re sharing a little holiday treat with your pet this weekend, keep it simple. Plain, fully cooked, boneless turkey in a small amount is a much safer choice than rich leftovers, gravy, stuffing or cooked bones.

And remember: onions, garlic, chocolate, raisins and foods containing xylitol should stay off the pet menu entirely.

A little planning now can help keep Thanksgiving weekend from becoming an unexpected veterinary visit. 🐾
