CKC Kennel Names
Are the CKC members unaware that one’s kennel name is considered “Reserved” Kennel Name is only protected for 1 year after breeder’s last membership year. After that point, anyone can seize a well known, kennel name that represents quality that the former breeder may have had for many years.
But if one is eligible and pays a fee of $274, one can secure a “Permanent” Kennel name.
But what is even more astonishing is that, after one pays the fee, that name is only protected for 10 years after the last membership year.
If you die that means your membership ends within that year
Surely PERMANENT means PERMANENT ?
What should we do about this?
A small group has started to write to their CKC director to have the issue brought up at the next meeting, scheduled for June 6. If you are interested I. Obtain I g a copy of the letter (which you can use or write your own), then sr d to your CKC director prior to the beginning of June, please contact me privately on messenger and send your email address. I will forward the letter and a list of CKC directors with their contact email.
Our voices will be heard if more members voice their concerns on this matter
