This Valentineās Day marks two years since Mazzy and Star went missing from a Brockville kennel after it was broken into in the middle of the night.
Valentine's Day now holds a different meaning for us.
For us, it symbolizes a love lost.
Our girls weren't supposed to be there but the foster home had suddenly fallen through and we were in a crisis.
It was an emergency situation. It was only meant to be a short-term stay.
If only we had come up with a better solution. But, as they say, hindsight is 20/20.
Two years is a long time, Lord knows it is.
But we still cling to hope that they will be returned to our waiting arms, to our broken hearts.
So we can can spend the rest of their lives making it up to them.
To right this wrong.
To give them a lifetime of love that they dearly deserve.
We failed them once, and we will never be OK with that.
But we also know that sometimes, you donāt get a second chance.
Still, we're praying hard that this will not be one of those times.
Because the people of Brockville sure haven't given up either.
They havenāt forgotten them.
They still ask about them, worry about them as we do, fearing they may have fallen into the wrong hands.
But they refuse to give up.
They vigilantly watch out for them, EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Yes.
There is still hope for a Miracle.
Maybe this Valentine's Day will once again be a Celebration of LOVE.
THANK YOU for all who continue to help keep hope alive.
