Valentine aka Valley💌

For just over a month, I’ve had the absolute joy of fostering this sweet girl. While I don’t usually take dogs into my own home (my pups are pretty protective of their space!), this was a special exception for a close family friend — and I’m so glad I said yes🥰

Tonight’s a little bittersweet as it’s Valley’s last night with me🥲

She fit in like she’d always belonged. The friendliest soul, always smiling, so well-mannered, and got along with everyone. Even my grumpy girl came around in the end 🐾

This isn’t something I usually do, but this chapter was rare, special, and so rewarding. Tomorrow, Valley heads back to her family — my house will be quieter, but my heart’s a little fuller. 💫

Love you, Val. Thank you for being such a good girl💜

Her real name was Marley, but we called her Buckets.

Lavender Leashes wouldn’t exist without her.
She’s the reason I believe dogs are more than pets — they’re family.
She’s the reason I know how powerful that bond can be🥹

She was my first baby. My rescue girl. My soul dog. I got her when I was 6 and she was about 1 — we grew up together. Literally.
She was there for every scraped knee, every awkward school year, every high and low.
She watched me grow from a kid to a teen to an adult… and she stayed by my side through it all.
She moved out with me and zoomed around my first house like she owned the place. She slept beside me when I cried. She danced with me around the house while blasting Justin Bieber. She even let me play dress-up with her when I was younger. She was always just there. Always.❤️

Buckets wasn’t “just a dog.”
She was my daughter. My sister. My best friend. My home. My everything❤️‍🩹

She passed away last January, and I haven’t been the same since.
Some days it still hits like it just happened.
Some days I laugh thinking about her goofy little trot or how she’d act annoyed but secretly loved cuddles.
I got a tattoo for her on my inner left bicep — so she’s always right next to my heart. Just something to keep her close🥰

Buckets, I love you forever.
Thank you for growing up with me.
Thank you for choosing me.
You’ll always be the heart behind this dream💜

✨MEET MY BABIES✨
Bonnie & Bella — the heart behind Lavender Leashes💜🐾

Bonnie is a Golden Retriever and turning 1 this October🎂 She’s the sweetest little soul — gentle, friendly, playful, and always wagging her tail. She loves cuddles, rolling in the grass, and carrying toys around like treasures. Her little Chewbacca growl when she’s excited has become part of her charm🥹🤍

Bella is turning 5 this August and she’s my sassy, smart girl🖤 A Border Collie x Australian Shepherd with a big personality. She’s energetic and intense… but also the most loving, cuddly dog you’ve ever met. She herds other dogs, keeps the house in line, and then naps like she runs the place (because let’s be real.. she kinda does). I even have a tattoo for her, that’s how deep our bond runs🥰❤️

These two are more than just my dogs — they’re my reason. They’ve taught me so much about loyalty, patience, and unconditional love. Lavender Leashes wouldn’t exist without them 🪻🐶

While I never fully stepped away from Lavender Leashes, social media definitely slipped through the cracks. Behind the scenes, I’ve been walking, cuddling, and caring for the sweetest pups. I’m so excited to be back online and back to full-time availability!

Hey everyone! I’m Taitum — the face behind Lavender Leashes🐾💜

Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I’m so excited to finally turn that love into something more. Lavender Leashes was created in honour of my sweet girl Buckets, and it’s built on trust, connection, and treating every furry friend like family.

After spending years in fast-paced jobs that didn’t light me up, I realized what truly makes me happy: fresh air, wagging tails, and being there for the pets (and people) who need me most.

Your dog(s) deserves more than just a walk — they deserve care, connection, and a whole lot of love. Let’s make their day (and yours) a little easier, one walk or visit at a time 🐶✨
