Hi Everyone!

Another long spell in between posts, but many irons in fire and end of outdoor season fast approaching! 👍

Scored a “new” project supply for next spring today. Am working up design as I’m texting, but already into September, with other outside seasonal things to ready for the ‘end of’ season, this one may have been dreamt up a shade too late for this year’s completion. lol
Spring will be around again eventually. , and by then, I should have all planned & designed for implementation next spring. 👍

I’ve been occupied taking off plants and veggies; and readying yard space for upcoming LONG winter ahead. Will devote next week to yard maintenance as well, and should be finished with it then until next year.

As such, haven’t had opportunity to even touch the glass on my desks.

I have one of three pieces semi-planned out but haven’t picked up the tools, save servicing them with new brushes last week. Alberta.
Fall takes precedence here. 😊

A sneak peek at today’s ‘stash’ and possible guesses as to what spring will ‘see’?? 😂

Back again on REPORT !! lol

I ran the polishing pad through the cleaning machines and have just finished giving a new elastic into the casing. 😂. Next time I use it, I won’t have to FIGHT with safety pins to hold the pad on the unit!! The original elastic had disintegrated over the years!! All better now!

Long time again, I know… almost shameful, even. 😂

I think I found my new best friend’ today… for reclamation of glass, anyway!!👍

Tony brought me home a 21 and 1/2” circular outdoor industrial flood light “cover” from a scrap pile. It is a 4 mm thick piece, that only has a few small pits…
After removing the industrial clamp mechanism and rubber protection seal around it’s edge, I tediously removed all silicone with a razor blade. I cleaned away all residual grime, but though I used everything glass related I could think of, nothing would remove a “ haze” on the glass itself. It kept ‘reappearing’ after each different cleaner completely dried off. I was now somewhat frustrated and disappointment set in. I left it sitting on the red towel on my glass table, refusing to simply give up on it!

After researching as much as I could, I still hadn’t found how to FIX it!! BUT THEN!!!

I thought of Master Glass Artisian, Lesley Pyke King!! 🌺 She has, just this year , retired from an illustrious 50 year career in Glass Engraving, and has been my mentor since 2018.

I contacted her with my ‘plight’!👍 She told me EXACTLY what needed to happen! 👍

Today, I have a completely engraveable HUGE piece of glass! NO HAZE!!! Cerium Oxide has just made its way to my glass supplies, along with hubby’s car polisher! 😂
What a terrific product!! 👍

Thanx again to Lesley Pyke King for her wealth of knowledge and the willingness to share it to further our chosen art form of Glass Engraving!

Now I’ve only to decide what I’m engraving on it!!! 😂

Hi Everyone!

Newest ‘thing’… at least here with me.😂

Decided to clean the interior of my ‘new’ second hand bbq today…
I have steaks waiting patiently in my freezer. 😂

The interior cabinet is cleaned, grates and diffusers are cleaned, but decided since it was taken apart anyway to the fire box, I may as well clean the diffuser plates up to my liking as well before I reassemble it for use!!
New product today… ‘Rust Comverter’. We’ll see how it does! First coating is on and now ‘drying’.

I will add flat black once I’m happy with ‘PRIMER’ coating!

Stay tuned! Reveal when it is fully ready to grill!! 😂

NOTE****

After researching a bit more, have reversed! Ground off the ‘converter’ and most of the rust with wire wheel. Now am submerging a slightly rusty surface in vinegar to remove any that remains.
Heat resistant bbq paint is only intended for outer cabinet refinishing, not interior pieces, so won’t bother refinishing the flavour bars as planned. Thankyou for the heads up to Robert and Jeremy… to have me research more before it created an issue!!!

Let’s scrub some more now!!😂

Productive few days for me. 😂

I sprayed the finish coat onto the new fire table, reworked the terracotta fountain and gave it a new table of IT’s own, and decided to brighten up two very tired looking planters…
That and managed to cut and w**d whip today. 👍

Hi Everyone!

Another piece of my PUZZLE tidied up today.
This cute little side table will house my table-top fountain… being re-worked as I’m texting this update!

I got the flat black done on the fire table and it is in curing state now. I’ve added herbicide to the under deck chickw**d today, so after the weekend, will critically eye progress on killing it off. lol. It is forecast to rain, starting tonight. 🌺. ( my irrigation for watering in!!! Whoop! )👍🙌

Hi Everyone.

Long time again between posts, but have been working my own yard…
Well… yard and ‘under-deck’ space this season. Figured I could utilize a shady place we already have…. It’s been an interesting journey so far. I’m not finished by any means, but it’s getting there….
Just thought I’d put up a post tonight to show where it’s at right now…

I re-created a new fire table and am re- working a fountain I had originally built in early 2000’s; adding in another tier and cleaning everything up… WIP, and wait for some pics on that ! 😂

Hi Everyone!

Been a long time again! Busy as a ‘bee’… well, WASP maybe? 🤪

Decided to give this crocheted decoy a try this year. I did a bit of reading and apparently, the decoys are more effective if they are hung EARLY in the year, before the drones have chosen a spot for a new’nest’, and before temperatures climb up.
I have had the boughten decoys in the past, and didn’t notice a difference but had perhaps hung them too late in season to be effective. Thought I’d try again this year armed with a bit more information on the territorial insects!!

We’ll see how it goes!
