Sissy came for her summer groom and she decided she was a dancer today and felt the need to explore my table. Sissy has lost her free range privileges lol. Zelda came for her summer cut and brought her big sister Lilo with her. Zelda put on her best Maria Carey performance during the scary blow dry and was even concerned when Lilo was getting blow dried lol, so cute. Lilo is approaching her senior years and this was her first visit with a groomer and she was amazing. Once she understood the assignment she enjoyed her bath and loved the blow dry despite Zelda’s protest lol. The hair was flying! These two ladies stole my heart today.

Miss Lisa is an on-location client. She is an old gal with aches and pains and required 2 visits to get the job done. This sweet gal’s tolerance level is limited but she powered through and we did as much as she would allow. It was a success and Lisa is much more comfortable now and is beautiful in her own way.

Bonnie and Teddy were in today for their summer grooming, silly me forgot to take an after photo of Teddy as he had a tough appointment and was upset. Teddy is 15 years old and requires geriatric grooming which is more for comfort and practicality than esthetics. He struggled today and required a few breaks but he hung in there like a champ.
Bonnie is a sweet and squirmy little thang and I got lots of kisses from her. She preferred cradle drying which was no issue as she’s light as a feather.

Bandit came for his deshedding bath and mini groom as he travelled a good distance to come see me today. I took some extra fur off as it might be a while before I see him again. He was a good boy and was very excited to get back to his mom. He is so soft and handsome now!
With Bandit came his new sister Scarlett for her very first groom ever. She was unsure of what to do but I guided her so that she understood the process better. I didn’t wash her head as she panicked when the water got close to her face and ears. I wanted her first groom to be as pleasant as possible as I want her to be comfortable while getting groomed. She was very affectionate and requested pets to soothe and calm her and I was happy to do so. She is a sweet girl and enjoyed getting brushed. These two are a bundle of energy and are very fluffy and happy and now. What sweethearts.

Maximum and Marcus had epic transformations today. I think Marcus surpassed Zeus in the hairiest dog contest lol. I wanted to get outdoor photos to showcase their stunning Smokey quartz coats but the rain had other plans. Indoor photos do not do justice to how handsome these fellas are. I got lost of kisses today and had to pay the snuggle tax and I am much obliged to do so. I love these gentleman. They are also transport clients and enjoy their car ride.

Handsome Zeus was really feeling the Wednesday blues and did not want to spend the afternoon with me lol. Despite his vocal protesting and tap dancing, Zeus was a very good boy and begrudgingly accepted his treats haha. The amount of hair on this big dude is extra. He is definitely my hairiest GS client lol. I mean it when I say this, he sheds all year long; I feel for his parents and all that hair they have to clean. He allowed me to brush him for 5 minutes longer than last time and work a little more cleaning his ears.
I think it’s fair to say for many groomers, we get attached to our clients and start to see them as extended family. Especially for us small businesses. Zeus is no exception.
I would like to honor this groom to all the small business groomers out there, we appreciate you and all the love you put into our beloved animals. For me this is more than my livelihood, it’s my passion.

Lucky is a Pomski which is another new breed of dog for me to groom and he is cuuuute! He was a very good boy and enjoyed his car ride as long as I didn’t ignore him lol. He had a deshedding bath and is soft and fluffy now.

Buck is a Bernedoodle (not sure I spelled that correctly) and he has some very unique markings and color of coat, he is gorgeous. He was a very chill dude and undertook a huge transformation. This boy is living his best life as he was full of sticky saplings and I’m sure he keeps his parents active lol. He was very happy to leave me behind lol. It’s ok Buck I can appreciate you won’t be in a rush to come visit me again lol, I still love him.

Puppy Russell is not so puppy sized anymore. He stands barely as tall as my grooming bathtub and he’s 10 months old! He has more hair than any dog I’ve groomed and I’m so thankful he’s mine because it took me 4 hours to groom him and he’s excellent to groom. He literally slept while I blow dried him he is so unbothered by anything lol. Unfortunately he only shed half his coat so there is much more fur to go but he looks so handsome and he’s incredibly soft and fluffy now, he feels so good to hug! I have no idea how much he weighs but it must be close to 100lbs. He is huge!
