Foster dog Wesley is looking for another foster home or adoptive home 💙 Here’s a little bit of info about him and what he needs in his new home!
German Shepherd Dog
18 months old & about 75-80lbs
Neutered/Microchipped/UTD on vaccines
~ Pet free home. Does best with no other dogs in the home, and has a high prey drive so no cats/small pets!
~ NO small children; dog savvy teens 16yrs+ are ok.
~ NO apartments or attached housing; he can be vocal when crated (I feel this is largely due to having other dogs in his current environment and that it will great improve in a pet free home!)
~ Rural setting and/or fenced yard would be ideal, but not required.
~ A confident handler with herding breed experience. Someone committed to continuing his training, providing structure and setting him up to make good choices.
~ Potty trained and comfortable in a crate, with the exception of FOMO related barking as mentioned before.
~ Knows a few basic commands (sit, down, kennel, out, place, wait, and markers; yes, good, ok, no)
~ Prong collar is being reconditioned to make walks more enjoyable! He can be leash reactive, this is a work in progress and will need continued training of course.
- Medium food drive and medium-high toy drive
- High energy, but not extreme. He does need a “job” with adequate mental stimulation/enrichment. Would thrive with someone fairly active.
Working on; leash walking, recall training, proofing commands he has been taught, impulse control and basic manners
Wesley really is a great boy and a ton of fun once he has built a relationship with you; and it’s not hard to win him over! He loves to be outdoors and would make an awesome hiking or running buddy! He is obsessed with snow and LOVES water too. He’ll be an awesome companion for someone and I know the perfect match is out there for him! 🫶🏼
Please share and help Wesley find a suitable placement! Training support will of course be provided to help him and his new person succeed. Contact myself or if you are interested :)
