This photo captures a close call with a dog I was assessing last week. It’s a stark reminder of how important it is to maintain proper control of your dog—especially when dealing with behavioral issues. The right training tools (such as an appropriate collar and leash) aren’t optional; they’re essential.
Even as a professional who takes every possible precaution when working with dogs displaying aggression, incidents can still happen. Fortunately, no skin was broken and there were no injuries—but this shirt didn’t make it out.
Dog training and behavior work isn’t always clean or easy, but it’s necessary—and situations like this reinforce the importance of proper handling and ongoing education.
