🐾❤️ *MEET ARLO: THE 4 YEAR OLD HOUND MIX — A GENTLE SOUL LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME* ❤️🐾
Some dogs have a way of quietly finding their way into your heart — and Arlo is one of those dogs. 🥹
Arlo is an approximately 4-year-old Hound mix with the sweetest, gentlest nature. He is *neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, healthy, happy, and so ready to find a family to call his own.* 🏡❤️
At his core, Arlo is an incredibly affectionate, easygoing boy who simply loves being close to his people. He isn't asking for constant excitement or entertainment — he's happiest knowing his humans are nearby, having a cozy place to curl up, and receiving the love and reassurance that make him feel safe.
He has settled beautifully into home life and is housebroken, calm indoors, and a champion napper. 😴💕 He loves lounging around the house and soaking up the comfort of being part of a family, but when it's time for a walk, that hound nose is ready for an adventure!

✨ Suitable for a house, condo or apartment
Arlo generally walks very nicely on leash, although every now and then his hound instincts take over when his nose discovers something irresistible! 👃🐾 He may pull a little when following an exciting scent, but he's very manageable and would benefit from continued positive leash training.
Arlo is also still learning his basic obedience. He currently knows “come” and would love a family willing to continue teaching him with patience, consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement. He's a smart boy who wants to do well — he just needs someone willing to show him the way. ❤️
Perhaps one of the most endearing things about Arlo is that his affection is something you earn. He can be a little shy and unsure when meeting someone new, particularly men. He isn't the kind of dog who necessarily gives his whole heart away in the first five minutes — he needs a little patience and the freedom to approach new people at his own pace.
But give him that time, and you'll begin to see the beautiful dog underneath that initial uncertainty. 🥹❤️ Once Arlo realizes he's safe, he relaxes, settles in, and shows you just how sweet, loving and gentle he truly is. Building his trust is incredibly rewarding, and we know there is a very special bond waiting for the person who chooses to give him that chance.
Arlo is also learning that it's okay when his people have to leave. He is not typically a barker or howler when left alone, although he may cry or whimper because he misses his humans. When he's nervous, he can occasionally begin chewing something he shouldn't. And when he's especially excited, he may jump up from time to time. These behaviours have been very manageable with redirection, and he responds well when calmly told “no.”
Because Arlo is so calm and relaxed inside the home, we believe he could be very happy in an apartment or condo as well as a house, provided he receives regular walks, enrichment, and plenty of opportunities to put that hound nose to work. 🐾🌳
We believe Arlo could fit beautifully into many different families — a single person, a couple, or a family with children. He has met both cats and children and has done well with them, and he is also comfortable around other dogs.
What matters most isn't the size of Arlo's future home.
It's the size of the heart waiting for him inside it. ❤️
Arlo needs someone patient enough to let him settle in, consistent enough to continue his training, and loving enough to show him that he doesn't have to worry about where he belongs anymore.
In return, you'll get a wonderfully gentle companion who will happily join you for a sniff-filled walk, curl up nearby while you go about your day, snooze away the afternoon, and slowly become one of those dogs you can't imagine your home without. 🥹🐶❤️
