✈️💙 FLIGHT ANGELS: A LITTLE EXTRA EFFORT. A WHOLE NEW LIFE. 🐾
Could there be anything better than a vacation? How about a vacation and helping save rescue animals on your journey home? 🐶🐱
Today, we want to give the BIGGEST thank-you to our incredible flight angels — the people who raised their hands this year and said, “Sign me up! I can help!”
These amazing humans chose to give a little extra time, patience, and effort at the end of their travels to help rescue animals make the journey from Greece to Canada and toward the lives they deserve. ❤️
Our flight angels came in all shapes and sizes: a group of friends returning from a cruise, a Canadian student studying in Athens who brought rescue animals as she returned home for the summer, past adopters paying it forward, Greek-Canadians who jumped at the chance to help, and our own dedicated volunteers who plan their vacations around bringing rescue animals home.

Because travelling with THREE kiddos and several in-laws wasn’t quite enough adventure, a family returning from a cruise also agreed to have us book SIX rescue animals on their flight! SIX! 🤯🐾
We are in absolute awe of your kindness, patience, and willingness to take on a little extra chaos to help animals you’ve never even met. Your generosity is something special!
✈️ So, what does being a flight angel actually involve?
It’s simpler than you might think!
💙 At departure, our flight angels arrive at the Athens airport approximately three hours before their flight to Toronto. Our amazing Greek rescue partners and friends do most of the heavy lifting at check-in.
💙 Upon arrival in Toronto, our wonderful airport porters help with the process, while flight angels assist with a little necessary customs paperwork.
And that’s it! A little extra time at the airport, a few additional steps, and a journey that changes lives forever.
Once everything is complete, our flight angels head home to unpack, recover from their vacations, and catch up on sleep. Meanwhile, their furry travel companions head off to loving foster or adoptive homes to begin a whole new chapter.
And that is where the real magic happens. ✨
It means a soft, comfortable bed instead of a cold, dirty floor.
It means reliable meals instead of wondering when food will come.
It means a safe home, warmth in the winter, and air conditioning in the summer instead of exposure to the elements.
It means care, comfort, security, and the chance to finally be someone's beloved family member.
For these animals, a flight to Canada isn't just a plane ride. It's the bridge between the life they've known and the life they've always deserved.
And for every flight angel who makes that journey possible, we hope you know just how much you matter.
You may only spend a little extra time at the airport, but to the animals travelling with you, you are part of the reason their entire world is about to change. 🐾❤️
To every passenger who said yes, every family who welcomed a few extra furry travellers into their journey, every volunteer who coordinated the details, and every rescue partner who made it happen — THANK YOU.
Thank you for sharing your journey home. Thank you for making room for those who need a chance. Thank you for showing that compassion doesn't always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it simply means being willing to give a little bit of extra time at the airport.
