New twins on Elimatta. Congratulations to New Momma Arwen.

Why do goats always kid on the coldest days? The chihuahuas are making sure these ones stay warm by the woodstove.

Due to a family emergency last Fall, we were delayed in getting our barn cat spayed. As a result, we have a new litter of 3 kittens to find homes for (not before) June 1st. We won't s*x them until they are a bit older as we seem to have "issues" with s*xing the newborns. Oops. This litter was born on 16 March 2022. I am booking Momma cat's spay appointment next week (for as soon as they say she can go through the surgery).

Life likes to remind you that there are ups and downs to farm life....it can't always be sunshine and stall mucking 🙂. Sometimes it's fencing crises, hauling buckets of water in -30 deg weather.......

And tonight we mourn the loss of stillborn triplet goat kids. Perfectly formed, perfectly beautiful and lost to us and their Mom Lulu.

We are sad tonight.
