On vous présente Nacho, un singe hurleur arrivé il y a 3 mois au centre.
Nous l'avons récupérer à Riberalta, où il a été un animal de compagnie pendant plusieurs années. Souffrant d'une forte malnutrition, il s'est montré amorphe et lent en arrivant. Il est maintenant en pleine forme, a retrouvé l'appétit et profite pleinement de sa nouvelle maison.

Il souffre d'une forme de nanisme, causé par un problème de développement osseux qui peut être dû à une anomalie génétique ou à une malnutrition sévère. On estime qu'il doit avoir dans les 3 ans au vu de la morphologie de sa tête, mais sa taille est celle d'un petit de 1 an.
Il lui manque ses dents, c'est pour cela qu'il a toujours la langue pendue. Cela peut venir de 2 causes différentes: une mauvaise alimentation, généralement trop sucrée, a pu fortement détériorer ses dents sur la durée. Une autre possibilité est qu'elles aient été arrachées pour l'empêcher de mordre.

Il ne pourra malheureusement pas être relâché, et vit maintenant autour de nos cabanes. Son apparence provoque un rejet du groupe et une réintroduction dans la nature est donc impossible.

We introduce you to Nacho, a howler monkey who arrived at the center 3 months ago.
We picked him up in Riberalta, where he was a pet for several years. Suffering from severe malnutrition, he was amorphous and slow when he arrived. He is now in great shape, has regained his appetite and takes full advantage of his new home.

He suffers from a form of dwarfism, caused by a bone development problem that may be due to a genetic abnormality or severe malnutrition. We can estimate that he is around 3 years old based on the morphology of his head, but his size is that of a 1 year old. He is missing his teeth, that's why his tongue is always out. This can come from 2 different causes: a poor diet with too much sugar, could have greatly deteriorated its teeth over time. Another possibility is that they were torn off to prevent him from biting.

Unfortunately, he will not be able to be released, and now lives around our cabins. His appearance means he is rejected from the group and a reintroduction into nature is therefore impossible.

Réintroduction d'Hermes

🕊 Après des années de travail, nous vous annonçons la liberation de notre singe hurleur Hermes !

🐒 Ayant vecu presque 3 ans en tant qu'animal de compagnie dans une famille, le travail d'adaptation à son environnement s'est avéré long et laborieux.
🥬🥭 Au debut très attaché a nous et vivant principalement sur le sol, il a appris progressivement a monter au arbres, manger des feuilles, chercher des fruits puis enfin hurler !
🤕 Ses nombreuses chutes lors de cette phase nous auront données quelques frayeur, mais c'est finalement assez confiant pour sa survie que nous l'avons laissé libre dans une zone où il devrait rencontrer tout ce dont il a besoin
En effet, il est assez normal de trouver dans la nature des singes hurleurs seuls, ceux-ci se dispersant lorsqu'ils atteignent l'âge adulte pour chercher des femelles avec lesquelles se reproduire.

Hermes' Reintroduction

🕊 After years of work, we are pleased to announce the release of our howler monkey, Hermes!

🐒 Having lived for almost three years as a family pet, adapting him to his new environment proved to be a long and arduous process.
🥬🥭 Initially very attached to us and living mainly on the ground, he gradually learned to climb trees, eat leaves, search for fruit, and finally, howl!

🤕 His many falls during this phase gave us a few scares, but ultimately, confident in his survival, we released him into an area where he should find everything he needs.
Indeed, it is quite common to find howler monkeys alone in the wild, as they disperse when they reach adulthood to find females to mate with.

Martin the capuchin :
Martin was voluntarily donated to the center by a family living near Palmar. He appears to have lived a relatively peaceful life, as he showed no signs of abuse or malnutrition when he arrived. He was about two years old when he arrived here.

🚎 Martin is a special capuchin. After escaping once, he was found near the Rurrenabaque bus terminal and returned to the group.
🦍Since then, he has gradually integrated into the group. Very scared at first, he ended up dominating Tyson and sometimes tries to stand up to Hati. He also has very good contact with Chiquitin, rhe younger capucins and the squirrel monkeys.

🍃🍂 At first, his favorite pastime was to offer us (and force us to eat) dirty leaves lying on the ground (sometimes a seed if we were lucky). Since we cut contact we are finaly avoiding those gifts 😁

👦 He has a preference for boys since his owner was one and and he sometimes show signs of aggression towards a girl if she gets too close to someone he really likes.

🐵🐒🦧 Évolution des singes hurleurs [FR]
Après plusieurs années de lente réadaptation à leur milieu naturel le premier groupe de singes hurleur du centre est dans la dernière ligne droite de sa réintroduction !

La troupe est originalement constitué des singes :
- Hermes, le plus âgé et le moins sauvage du groupe, il a récemment été libéré à quelques km du centre pour éviter qu'il ne revienne vers les habitations.
- Hanu, de plus en plus solitaire, cherchant des femelles matures pour se reproduire et former son propre groupe, on l'entend parfois hurler dans la forêt.
- Wayna, Oriana et Roméo, les trois plus jeunes toujours ensemble, soudés et complètement indépendant.

🌴 La troupe vie maintenant de manière indépendante dans les environs du centre et se débrouille super bien !

Bon courage a eux pour leur vie indépendante !

🍼 He arrived at the center as a baby after his mother was killed by hunters. So we had to bottle-feed him at night (he's a nocturnal animal).

At first he lived under our feet in the kitchen, but he eventually became independent and now lives around us, sleeping during the day and trying to seize every opportunity to sneak in and steal our ci******es, alcohol, or coca leaves (a real degenerate 😅).

Our role is to prevent him from coming in, teach him about life in the wild, and gradually hope to return him to nature.

🚬 So be careful to put away your cigarette packs and beer cans, otherwise good luck running faster than him!

🍼 Arrivé bébé au centre, après que sa mère eu été tué. Il a donc fallu le nourrir au biberon la nuit (c'est un animal nocturne).

D'abord vivant dans nos pattes dans la cuisine, il a fini par prendre son indépendance et vit maintenant autour de nous, dormant la journée et essayant de saisir toute opportunités pour entrer et nous voler nos cigarette, alcool ou feuilles de cocas (un vrai dépravé).

Notre rôle est donc de l'empêcher de rentrer pour lui apprendre la vie sauvage et peu a peu espérer le rendre à la nature.

🚬Attention donc à ranger nos paquets de cigarette, canettes de bières, autrement bon courage pour courir plus vite que lui !

Grande nouvelle ! 🌟 Aujourd’hui, un événement extraordinaire s’est produit au sanctuaire : notre nouveau singe-araignée a été présenté aux bébés singes-hurleurs 🐒. Je fais une exception pour ce petit car personne d’autre ne pouvait l’accueillir. Nous espérons qu’il trouvera sa place au sein de notre joyeuse troupe. 💚
