For the past year, boatman Fazlu Mia has been catching invasive sucker fish from Dhakaâs Buriganga River, significantly reducing their population. Frustrated by their dominance, he took it upon himself to remove them, gaining social media fame. Initially mocked for selling them, he later found buyers in poultry and crocodile farms. Despite a government ban due to contamination risks, experts acknowledge his impact on controlling the species, while researchers explore their safe use in animal feed.
