Spot the needles in the patients! 👀
Bella & Bailey are my latest acupuncture patients 💜💙

Their owner wanted them to have some natural drug-free relief for their arthritis, in addition to the arthritis medications they were already taking.

Being wheelchair bound herself, their owner was grateful to find my mobile services could visit her home in Banyo 💕

Having taken their history, examined them and assessed the most appropriate acupuncture points, I gently inserted their needles. Their lick mats occupied them nicely for more than the 5-10 mins minimum needle time needed for a benefit.

I’m now booked in for both to have a 6 visit bundle ($499). I can’t wait to see the benefit, and see these gorgeous two (and their lovely owner) regularly 🥰

While there, I’ll clip their nails, brush them and check if any further advice is needed.

See you soon Bella and Bailey! 💖

The love that owners have for their pets never ceases to amaze me. I had to share this beautiful shrine of love created by Miranda for her dog Maia after she passed.

Having supported Miranda through life’s ups and downs (Miranda was in the armed forces 🙏), their bond was especially strong.

Pets bring so much with little expectation in return. They really are embedded in our lives and part of the family.

This is one particularly poignant example, of many that I see each and every day of love for pets 💕

Today was so satisfying and rewarding - with Panda the 4yr old Maltese cross.

I visited him 2 days ago for a nail issue but spotted a fractured, sore tooth. His owner didn’t want him in pain so booked in a dental with me ASAP.

Today I collected him from his home, drove him to Vets On The River Clinic, gave him lots of cuddles & reassurance and proceeded with his dental. For this, we anaesthetised him and assessed his teeth visually and with full mouth dental X-rays. Luckily his fractured tooth was the only one with any issues and the rest were very healthy.

I cleaned up all of his teeth with a scale and polish, injected a nerve block then carefully extracted his fractured tooth in sections. It thankfully all came out without complication.

Throughout his anaesthetic, practice manager and head nurse Alex closely monitored his anaesthetic, gave him a drip and kept him warm with a warm air device blown under his blankets.
We also clipped his nails nice and short, emptied his a**l glands, and trimmed and cleaned his face.

He recovered really quickly, and having given him time to return to full strength, I gave him some healthy snacks, more cuddles, then drove him home. I sang songs from the radio to him on the way home as this reassured and settled him like a baby (there’s no extra charge for this!)!

His owner received photo updates throughout the day, a phone call when I’d finished and a full written and verbal handover of the plan for the next few days.

Included in my costing is one or two home checks over the next 10 days. I’m looking forward to more cuddles already! I’m sure he’ll be more comfortable with that fractured painful tooth out of his system 🐼💙

From scuffing to bouncing…! These two are one of my favourite duos. Having visited for Leia’s vaccination and Blue scuffing his back legs, I offered them some options for arthritis as I diagnosed that they were both stiff from arthritis, and this was causing Blue to scuff his back legs, making his nails bleed.

They now are on a monthly arthritis injection regime, using zydax (https://parnell.com/products/petcare/zydax-canine)

Today I visited them and heard the latest on how they’re going. Their lovely owners were a little cautious in their optimism to start with, wondering if it’s a placebo effect. But they now have quite a bit of evidence to prove the benefit including:
- both pulling more on the lead
- Blue putting weight on his previously fractured back leg to c**k his right leg to urinate (which he’s never done before)
- Footprints on their outdoor table indicating one or both are able to jump up there!
- Blue jumping over the high arm of their sofa from ground level!

It’s my absolute pleasure to visit these two in their home on a monthly basis now. As well as administering their injections, I’ll also check in how they’re doing, weigh them occasionally, trim nails if needed, and generally keep an eye on how they’re doing.

I love how Leia chatters her teeth in excitement and asks me to throw her ball. Blue loves the attention from me - and tasty treats! They really are gorgeous.

Today was a first!

I have a patient Chloe who’s a 15 yr old Spoodle who’s been having some tummy troubles. Having run faecal tests then blood tests, we still had no firm diagnosis and a specialist abdominal (tummy) ultrasound scan was the next most useful step.

Chloe hates going to a vet clinic, so when I saw a friend Phil of Purpose Paws use medical specialist Dr Josh King for his own cat’s ultrasound scan, I reached out to ask if Dr Josh would consider performing an abdominal ultrasound at an owner’s home. He said yes! (as long as a few conditions were met eg dark room, owners outside of room, having me present, etc).

Today that ultrasound scan was performed! And it was Dr Josh’s first official home visit ultrasound scan. Chloe waited patiently on her coach in the comfort of her home while the owners and I prepared the room (owner’s study) and Chloe for his arrival.

Dr Josh performed an incredibly detailed abdominal ultrasound scan, which has given us lots of really useful information about her organs and what could be causing her tummy issues, plus advice on what will/may help.

I feel so happy that I could find a way to allow Chloe to have this incredibly useful scan in the secure comfort of her home with her owners close by. I’m very grateful to Dr Josh and his team for his understanding, time and invaluable help.

Thank you PetSound Specialist Care and thank you Chloe for being a superstar patient. I feel grateful that I found this option for her 🥰

This feedback makes my heart sing:

'I cannot believe the difference in him, I wasn’t expecting much, he was at a stage where he rarely greeted us, preferred to lay down unless he felt there was a threat, which was the only time he was up now he literally bounces when he walks rolls around the yard on his back like a puppy, greets us again immediately. It’s a night and day difference. I am so thankful that it worked, I wasn’t expecting a drastic change, and I feel so much better.'

This was from an owner with an arthritic dog who I visited for a vaccination. The owner also wanted to improved his quality of life. I gave her options in a follow up email and she chose her preferred choice. I organised this for her and here we are a few weeks later.

With permission from his owner, I had to share this beautiful example of the love that owners have for their pets 💘

Ollie was a large, gentle back labrador who loved food, cuddles and company. He belonged to a lovely family in Alexandra Hills, who invited me to visit to help make Ollie's final days as comfortable as possible, in his home. Ollie was euthanised at home, on 13.7.26.

This keepsake struck me as a wonderful example of the breadth of love that owners have for their pets. How animals are not just pets, but part of the family unit, where every ounce of their body and every moment of their company is treasured like gold.

Ollie was given such respect and dignity and he is now remembered forever - just like any other family member.

He leaves behind Winston the French Bulldog, and Daisy the Staffy - who are also thought of as precious family members.

It is my honour to be trusted to help such important figures in people's lives. The impact these previous animals have is wider than we can imagine.

R.I.P gorgeous Ollie x x x

We all love this place - it’s a hub of the community! Runners, firemen, mums, walkers - you name it, they love it here.

Who can blame them? Amazing coffee, divine baked goodies, friendly staff. Need I say more?

Well yes I do! As I’ve just given them some free kangaroo dog treats (with my business card) so get yourself along there for a coffee and grab one before they run out (although I will replenish them 😉)!

Thank you Frankie's Coffee Bar! 💖
