We often go camping out west and I wanted our kelpie, Kirra, to understand that snakes are to be avoided and not investigated.
On our latest camp, Kirra alerted us to a brown snake on 2 different occasions. She stayed well away from the snake each time but her body language said it all. We didn’t even know there was a snake but Kirra sensed it and when we did finally spot it, we were able to give it a wide berth.
I for one, am so grateful for the snake avoidance training that Sandy offers and highly recommend it to all dog owners.

I took my 1 year old to the snake avoidance training. I lost a pup to a snake bite last year, and want to do all I can to train my dog to avoid them as we live on rural property and with lots of snakes. I found the training by Sandy and her partner very relevant, and very well run. My Ruby learned a lot, as did I, and with the ongoing practice at home, I feel reassured that she will be able to avoid snakes. Thanks so much, this is invaluable training. Looking forward to doing the adult obedience training next.

A couple of weeks later ...
Pretty sure Maggie had her first snake detection today. We were on lead in a new location and she was sniffing around. She started sniffing a lot more intensely and then turned and walked away without me saying anything. Upon speaking to someone else the confirmed a python and red belly frequent that spot. Sarah

DEALING WITH DISTRACTIONS AND CONTROLLED SOCIALISATION GROUP CLASS any age. We teach your dog how to focus on you amidst distractions and the all-important socialisation skills & how to greet with polite manners. You handle your dog so you will learn valuable skills as well.

❌Do you desire your dog to not get so excited when they see other dogs or people?
❌Do you want your walks to be more calm and enjoyable for you, not just your dog?.
❌Are you on edge as soon as you see something in the distance, a dog, person, a bird or anything else ?
❌ Does your dog get crazy and not have any manners when greeting others?
❌ Are you constantly apologizing when your dog runs up to somebody and jumps up on them?
❌ Are you being pulled along as they rush to meet others? And ...
❌ On the other end of the scale, is your dog so timid that it's stressful for them to see other dogs.

CONTROLLED SOCIALISATION & OBEDIENCE TRAINING for small dogs and puppies at Woolgoolga.

Thursdays for small breed dogs and puppies. Limited number of dogs so spots book out quickly. I have 2 spots left for this Thursday, 30th July.

We experienced another 2 success stories this week with Clover, an adult Cavoodle who has severe Separation Anxiety. After 2 sessions, she's much better and actually playing with other dogs having fun without her owner present. Still more work to be done but the process is moving forward.
The other is Bubbles, a young Border Collie puppy, who was so timid and scared, but now after 2 sessions is a happy well adjusted little dog. So happy 😁

Do you have a timid dog that needs help socialising or a dog who is over the top who needs extra consistent training to learn to socialise with manners.

Socialisation has to be done correctly, or you could deal with long term issues from potential trauma, so this is a unique opportunity with limited spots available for dogs or puppies in a safe and comfortable fenced & grassed space. It has also proven to be helpful with dogs who experience Separation Anxiety.

You drop your dog off & I'll train it to socialise with manners & confidence with a limited number of other dogs. We work on calm interactions, plus obedience training as I observe & interact directly with your dog. Fully supervised for the whole 2 or 6 hours.

As well as all the benefits above, this is an excellent opportunity for you to have some well deserved time out from your pupper duties 😜

🥰 Vincenso had 3 x 2 hour sessions... he has come along in leaps & bounds.
BIG progress... Our neighbour (with ms electric chair) wheeled very close to Vinnie stopped & dropped her hand down ... Vinnie walked in to sniff, he took little step back. While we were talking he walked forward & stood calmly 😃. So different from when he was twirling round choking himself trying to get away before the training with Sandy. Then when we got in lift, another neighbour got in with dog ... normally Vinnie quakes in corner. He just stood calmly while cavoodle did spins on her lead Luckily only 1 floor ride. I just praised him quietly & calmly. 💯 recommend Sandy at Clever Pup.

The change in Vinnie is remarkable after 3 sessions. Thank you Sandy.

So excited for Dave to see his friends!!
Dave's socialisation skills really paid off over Christmas, we stayed with family and there were 5 other dogs there all the time and on Christmas day Dave was one of 13 dogs. Apart from a 15 year old Dachshund who was there on Christmas day Dave was by far the smallest dog. He did so well and he really wouldn't have without having his socialisation training days ❤️
