Well We just touched down in Tassie after a fantastic trip away to Casterton - Australia's Premier Working Dog Auction - Young Hornet and I were incredibly privileged to participate in a two day clinic with 3 time Australian champion Joe Spicer from Go Getta Kelpies SOLD OUT - Casterton Kelpie Muster - Working Dog School - Joe Spicer where I added an extensive toolbox of skills to better understand and support my dog in its development journey towards effective teamwork and enhancing its natural ability as well as learning skills to become kinder, more empathetic stockmen. Thank you to Daniel Bell from Ewe, Me & The Dog - Working Dog Training, for facilitating and coordinating this event, and playing taxi driver for myself and Hornet to attend on Monday! A huge shout out to my pit crew, Mark Sutton and Riley, who remained smiling, supporting, and cheering in the background no matter how long I yapped on about dogs for, and keeping the camp running smoothly whilst I dashed around doing all things dog! We had an amazing time away, lots of catching up with old friends, including our clients and several fellow Tassie studs, was fantastic to see you all presenting Tazzy Dogs there and having them sell well and received well both on the mainland and back into state ! ๏ฟผwas awesome to catch up with David and Sarah Lee from The Leeโs Working Dogs, congratulations to Sarah on your challenge win, I remember watching you and Roc trialling at the Working Dog Challenge Carcoar combined sheep/cattle challenge years ago and thinking what an amazing combination you both were! You inspired me then and you inspire me now! Lots of new people met, putting names to faces, lots of encouragement and support from peers, and my dogs were fantastic, showcasing my stud well and reflecting the training, time and effort put into preparing them. It was our very first time preparing an offering Dogs for a public auction and thereโs nothing like dipping your toe in the first time at the biggest event on the calendar! There was a huge amount learnt and an enormous amount of information overload to take away, the positivity and encouragement I received from other fellow exhibitors and breeders was amazing and I canโt thank you all enough for your feedback and your positive comments and encouragement! We canโt wait to come back again and continue to build on what we have started.๏ฟผ
