Video shared.

A colleague of mine was sent this video by a member of the public who was travelling from Torquay to Geelong. At some point this snake has taken shelter underneath the vehicle, whether it was seeking somewhere safe to escape to or simply seeking a heat source from the warm engine.

If you ever encounter yourself in this situation, don’t panic. The snake can’t enter your vehicle unless you have the windows or doors open. Find somewhere safe to pull over, (try to park somewhere in an open area), and exit the vehicle. If you remain too close to the vehicle the snake won’t feel safe enough to exit and could hide under there for hours.

Contact your local snake catcher for advice, and follow their instructions. Remember, the snake doesn’t want to live in your vehicle!
