Meet our little Mini Dacshund friend ‘Daisy’ 💓 with a HUGE Personality!
As you can see, she is super driven by all things FUN - Balls, toys, water jets…honestly anything that keeps things moving and fun 🤩 and that motivation makes her FUN to work with and she often has us thinking ‘outside the box’ to keep her entertained Lol 😜
She loves her twice weekly Hydro sessions, where we’re focusing on strengthening her Pelvic limbs, improving her Voluntary Motor Function and continuing to build her gait and walking function. 🫶
🐾 Her BIG personality shines through every session and it’s so rewarding to see her improvements in relation to her mobility!

🐾 Patient Spotlight; ACE! 🤩
Ace has a rough back story - He recently found himself in Doberman Rescue and his carer brought him to us for the Initial Assessment as he had RHL Lameness issues, may scar’s, recent surgery, he was malnourished and emaciated but lucky to have found a place to rest his heart and soul with a beautiful foster family who have dedicated their lives to ensuring he gets everything he needs to rehabilitate and thrive with wonderful health and a fantastic quality of life. 🩵🐾
🫶 We don’t know all that he’s been through but whatever it had been has rocked this poor kids confidence.
🩵 By teaching him how to use his body with more balance and learning to develop muscle mass, strength and endurance through targeted Therapeutic land-based exercises, behavioural training to hep him integrate into living comfortably with a family and through reg Hydrotherapy sessions, he has made leaps and bounds in relation to his rehab💪🏻🤩
He just completed his first 6wk Hydrotherapy course and the BEST NEWS we celebrated today is that he has developed 10cm of muscle mass in his RHL and 8-9cm of pure muscle in his LHL 🥳
🐾 We are all just so thrilled about his huge gains in such a short period of time and we know along with his growing confidence, he is becoming the BEST version of himself which we can all see developing before our eyes 👀
🐾 These are the reasons why we absolutely love every part of our days spent working with puppers and their families!!

✨ Patient Spotlight: Genesis ✨
🐾 Gen is a gorgeous English Bulldog who came to us after partially rupturing her CCL in RHL in Aug 2024.
🐾 Oct 2024 Gen had a TTO Surgical procedure performed as she was at a high risk of sudden complete rupture!

💓 What makes Gen’s story so important is how subtle her early signs were: Her mum noticed;
✔️ An unbalanced walking gait
✔️ Intermittent lameness, most noticeable when walking slowly only
✔️ Increased weight-shifting into her opposite pelvic limb
✔️ Changes that were more noticeable after high-energy play

🐾 Despite this, Gen remained her usual happy and playful self with a great appetite - which is why CCL injuries can sometimes be difficult to pick up early!

✅ Breeds such as Bulldogs are well-known for being stoic, meaning small subtle lamenesses can easily be missed. A huge congrats 🥳 to Gen’s mum for recognising these mild changes in the way she was moving and for seeking Veterinary attention early 👏🐾

💓 Today, Gen visits our clinic once per mth for her targeted Conditioning exercises and hydrotherapy sessions, helping her to stay strong, balanced, and in the best condition she can be 💪💦

💓 We’re so proud to be a part of Genesis’ regular rehab journey, both for conditioning and maintenance which also allows us the opportunity to detect any early changes to her functional activities and her gait patterns so we can intervene, treat and correct an early changes as they come up! 🎉💓🐾🐾

🐾What a fabulous and exciting 2025 we experienced here at Chillax 🎉
It’s been quite the ride!

Every day, we are trusted with something incredibly special — your precious puppers - Whether they come to us for recovery, strength building, pain management, or simply to move more comfortably, we never take that trust for granted…. In fact it’s a true blessing! 🫶

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your dog’s journey. Thank you for the conversations, the laughs, the updates, the patience, and the shared celebrations over every small win — the first pain-free step, the stronger bodies, the improved confidence, the brighter spark in their eyes, the sweet tail wags saying ‘Thanks’ - These moments mean everything to us…this is what we live for! 🐾🐾💓🩵

Your puppers aren’t just patient’s to us — they become part of the Chillax family. We feel privileged to support them through healing, growth, and improved quality of life, and to walk alongside you as their biggest advocates.

❤ Absolutely loving this girl's sass!😍
🐾 Miss Honey first came to us here at Chillax Canine Rehabilitation & Hydrotherapy as she has had 2 Cruciate Rupture Repair Surgeries and she wasn't able to live life to the fullest!
🐾 You'll see from the 1st Vid how she had a stilted pacing gait pattern which is due to an imbalance in the muscles and surrounding soft tissues which affect how she moves due to compensatory issues.
🐾 For a good old age of 14 she has been making fantastic progress and as you'll see from her Hydro and other vid's, she is moving w/ more purpose, move flexibility and improved balance. 😁She has worked on building muscle mass, strength and endurance all through her targeted home Therapeutic and Conditioning exercises her mum diligently does with her each day, combined with the reg Rehab sessions including Hydrotherapy, combined, she is making fabulous improvements 😍

🐾 Our new friend Zeke here is showing us how easy it can be to lose weight through regular Hydrotherapy sessions can be here at Chillax Canine Rehabilitation & Hydrotherapy!
🤩 In only 2 Hydro sessions using the amazing Aquatread Underwater Treadmill Zeke has lost 6cms from around his Neck & 13cms from around both his Chest and Waist...He's fading away in front of us 🥳
🐾 He now has so much energy, he's instigating play with his sis 'Jellybean' and he's loving life once more with a spring in his step and the most gorgeous relaxed smile.

🐾 Ben was my perfect 'trial' for when I needed to practice my Casting Mould technique to become the Sydney based Rehab Therapist to partner with the American company - Hero Dog Braces which offer Custom-made Stifle Braces.
These are a great alternative for those who cannot have corrective knee surgery. These braces are uniquely designed to give the Stifle joint the stability it needs so your pet can get back to doing what they love much sooner with less pain.
