Here's an up close shot of a blended leg about a week after clipping once the hair and skin has settled (and been in thr mud 🤭)

It gives a smooth and even finish, whilst still leaving some protection on the lower leg for the mud, cold, and twigs she may encounter on her trail rides.

Bays are usually fab to blend, but this girl gets really red in her winter coat, so we spent a little extra time to ensure a seamless result 🥰

She has a sort of Irish chaser combo - underneath her whole undercarriage is clipped (which was a surprising amount of hair) and then a little Irish up the front where she tends to feel hot.

The beauty of clipping my own is if this is not enough cooling I can (begrudingly) extend the clip 🤞

I love an irish or chaser for rugging routines, many ponies who run hot under their winter coat (let alone rugs) do well in a chaser without rugs until the weather has properly set in. Plus they still have a solid covered rump to turn to the wind on naked days 🌬
