To our dear followers, this is a cry for help from Bridie and Jenny: we need to urgently raise funds to continue providing vet care to the bulldogs who are currently with the rescue.

Behind the wrinkles, each rescued bulldog has a unique story. Help us write a happy ending for Joey, Lola, Millie & Dre’s rescue stories by chipping in to our urgent fundraiser to clear our vet bills.

We’re hoping at least 15 of you can kickstart this fundraiser by clicking here now: https://minis-bulldog-rescue-club.mygiveeasy.com/bulldogrescue/donatenow

Let us tell you about Joey. Poor little Joey came to MBRC at only 11 weeks old with a life-threatening hook-worm. Joey is stronger now, but still fighting some nasty infections and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The specialist visits, tests and medications Joey needs are expensive.

Precious Lola was diagnosed with lymphoma 2 weeks ago, it is progressing fast and she doesn’t have much time. We will do everything we can for her.

Young Millie came to MBRC in a very stressful hurry during the rural VIC heatwave and fires a couple of weeks ago, she has a terrible cherry eye which needs surgery.

Dre has come on in leaps and bounds, but there is no quick fix for his terrible skin and MRSP infection. As you can imagine, the costs here are all adding up.

Your donation, no matter the size, will directly contribute to covering these vet costs, ensuring we can continue to save more bulldogs and help those we have already rescued.

You can make a difference by donating now: https://minis-bulldog-rescue-club.mygiveeasy.com/bulldogrescue/donatenow

We need to raise at least $15,000 tonight to clear our vet bills. It’s desperate and critical we raise these funds.

Just $10 from each and every one of you would see us smash our goal. We desperately need your help.

It would be truly amazing and relieve the immense stress we are feeling right now if our prayers are answered and when we wake up tomorrow morning $15,000 has been raised.

Please write DONE below after you have donated and please share this post far and wide.

We know that together we can get this done ###x

Please help Mini's Bulldog Rescue Club 🐶

To our loyal supporters, it’s Bridie & Jenny here. We are reaching out to you with an urgent plea for help.

Rescue starts with getting a dog out of a shelter and saving them from euthanasia, but it doesn’t end there. Rescue is the commitment to their care and finding a forever home, no matter what care is needed and how long it takes.

The rescue crisis in Australia is beyond words. Mini’s Bulldog Rescue Club promises to be there at every step of the way for every bulldog who comes into our care. However, right now our vet bills have built up and to be honest we have no choice but to launch an emergency fundraiser.

We’re hoping at least 12 of you can kickstart our emergency fundraiser to clear our vet bills and keep our promise by clicking here now: https://minis-bulldog-rescue-club.mygiveeasy.com/urgent-help-needed/donatenow

We need to tell you about some of the most recent bulldogs we have saved and are caring for. We can’t even think about what would have happened if we hadn’t helped them.

Josie was neglected then dumped at 9.5 years old. She is a sweet older lady who has suffered dreadful neglect over many years. Heartbreakingly, Josie's owner moved and left her behind, the local pound put Josie on their kill list if a rescue group didn’t take her within 7 days.

We saved Josie last week. The most upsetting part is that Josie’s health concerns are totally treatable. Josie deserves dignity, love and care in her twilight years.

There’s also precious Dennie who has spent more than half his life in kennels due homelessness and then no foster home. Dennie finally went to a foster home 3 weeks ago, but has been unwell since. We were concerned Dennie had a life-threatening blockage.

SASH emergency looked after Dennie in the hospital for 5 days. A CT scan thankfully didn’t show a blockage, and Addison's Disease was ruled out through multiple blood tests. Dennie has been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Poor poor Dennie had bad regurgitation following the procedures, but he is back in his foster home now recovering. There’s no quick fix for IBD so it is still a long road ahead for Dennie.

The list goes on and on. Click through to our emergency fundraiser to read more about some the most urgent bulldogs we are saving: https://minis-bulldog-rescue-club.mygiveeasy.com/urgent-help-needed/donatenow

The rescue crisis in Australia is beyond words. Dogs and cats are unnecessarily dying every day due to humans letting them down and breeding that exploded during COVID. We feel a strong sense of purpose that we need to help these most vulnerable animals, we know you do too. We can’t bear the thought of having to say no and for another bulldog to suffer or lose their life due to a lack of funds.

We need to raise at least $30,000 tonight to clear our vet bills. It’s desperate and so crucial we get there.

Just $10 from each and every one of you would see us smash our goal. We need your help to keep our promise.

It would be truly amazing and relieve some of the stress we are all feeling right now if when we wake up tomorrow morning we have hit our goal.

Mini's Bulldog Rescue Club needs your support, please make a donation

It’s Jen & Bridie here - we wish we weren’t back here, but we are - we need your support more than ever. Bulldog rescue is at an all time low. It’s stressing us out big time and Mini’s Bulldog Rescue needs YOUR HELP!

With the recent bulldogs who came into rescue care, their medical needs are far beyond what we anticipated and have funds available for. We’ve had to make the difficult decision to temporarily close Mini’s Bulldog Rescue from helping new bulldogs until funds are urgently raised and outstanding vet bills paid.

Please can 10 generous donors kickstart our emergency appeal right now by clicking here: https://mbrc.giveeasy.org/urgent-help-for-us-to-reopen

We are hoping this incredible bulldog community will help with the fundraising needed to turnaround the financial position of Mini’s Bulldog Rescue so we can get our current bulldogs their vet care and reopen our doors once again.

This is more than just a fundraiser, sharing George’s story with you touches at the core of why we do what we do, why we volunteer, the daily struggles of rescuing, and how we simply cannot exist without your ongoing help, financially and emotionally.

♥ George’s rescue story ... ♥
George is the epitome of what Mini’s Bulldog Rescue stands for. George was born into our rescue nearly 6 years ago, he was the last of 8 pups born to a 10 month old American Bulldog X mum coming from a rural pound. George was bottle fed along with his littermates, it was an around the clock feat to ensure their survival. We believe George was a little oxygen deprived from birth being the last pup born and he’s always been a bit special in a few ways.

All the pups went off to adoptive homes including Georgie, but his home did not work out as he was a handful. He was returned only to go off to another home who returned him too as they were having a baby. George was not an easy boy, he loved to resource guard. Without a home for George we were forced to place him in kennels, he was there for 2 plus years, even resource guarding his pen (not letting his kennel carer in) so a magpie could eat what was meant to be his lunch. He was moved from those kennels to a training facility in Sydney and after graduating back to kennels again.

FINALLY after 5 years in rescue, George was transported back to Melbourne and our boy found his forever home! 7 months on, George is happy …. he is loved, he has a canine sister Sunny who he adores and life for George is now worth all the heartache we felt ensuring we had his back.

Finally settled in a home where he would be able to be rested and recover, we were able to arrange for expensive specialist leg surgery George had needed for a couple of years. The cost of this alone was about $8,000 and he has recently had the all clear and been able to return to normal activities.

Our commitment to George never wavered - always watching over and looking out for George, making sure he was safe no matter what it took. George still guards his ‘treasures’ but most of his old habits have been washed away with love, care, patience and understanding. George loves his new family who love him and understand his quirky ways.

Just like we’ve had George’s back, we ask you to please have ours and dig deep so we help more dogs who need the rescue, like George did.

The emergency appeal goal is $27,000 and we’re hoping that by the morning we will have reached this total and can pay the outstanding vet bills. We are in deep financial stress and desperately need help, when we reach this $27,000 goal it will help alleviate the financial stress so much.

Please comment ‘DONE’ after you have donated (thank you) and please please please share this far and wide. We need the whole of the internet to see our appeal and we’re really hoping this post goes totally viral.

Please donate now so we can raise the $27,000 desperately needed: https://mbrc.giveeasy.org/urgent-help-for-us-to-reopen

To our amazing followers, you have to trust us when we say we didn’t want to write this to you. We really didn’t. We really need your help tonight. It’s Jen and Bridie, we have volunteered running this amazing rescue for many years. We know the lead up to Christmas should be a time of joy and good times.

It is for most people… everyone is with their precious family and having fun on the beach or at a celebratory BBQ. However, unfortunately that’s not the case for us and our dedicated team of volunteers and foster carers.

We’ve been hit really hard over the past few weeks with many of our precious bulldogs in crisis and we’ve had a string of emergencies one after another. We just can’t catch a break. It pains our heart so much and we just can’t keep up and desperately need your help!

To keep operating and rescuing bulldogs, we urgently need to get the financial position of our rescue back under control. We have no choice. It’s the reality that we are facing right now.

We’re hoping that at least 13 of you can kickstart our emergency appeal right now by clicking here: https://mbrc.giveeasy.org/urgent-help-to-clear-our-vet-bills

We are stressed out to the max. The messages don’t stop arriving and we are on the phone to vets what feels like 24/7 at the moment. Despite the exhaustion we know we must keep going. For the sake of the bulldogs in need.

We love what we do, we wouldn’t replace it for anything but the financial side is incredibly stressful. We need your help tonight.

We’ve helped so many bulldogs this year, saved many lives, found amazing forever homes but tonight we have no choice. We desperately need these funds to continue saying YES, especially before the Xmas break where donations evaporate for an extended period of time.

Our team is dedicated. We will do whatever it takes. It’s our promise to you. We make a big difference to the life of each bulldog we help.

Tonight we wanted to tell you about Jude, George, Bubba and Coco to give you a sense of what we face every single day behind the scenes.

Jude was saved from suffering and euthanasia when he came to us with a blockage in his small intestine and hadn’t eaten or drank for a week. Volunteers rushed 4 hours from rural VIC to Melbourne in the middle of the night. A corn cob was found and removed with emergency surgery, and Jude spent a further 3 days in the hospital.

George captured hearts as the longest time a dog has been in MBRC’s care. But miracles do happen and he has found his forever family. Now that George is out of the kennel and in a loving home, we need to get the leg surgery done that had been put off for the past year as he needed to be in a home environment to recover.

George has a grade 4 luxating patella (dislocating knee), ruptured cruciate ligament and femoral varus deformity (where his femur is bent, and needs to be broken to straighten).

Bubba’s eyes received specialist surgery earlier in November to fix a condition called entropian and we were just about to put him up for adoption when a sore and swelling the size of a tennis ball blew up on the side of Bubba’s face.

Some kind of foreign object (likely a couple of grass seeds) had broken through the skin and it caused a major infection and abscess. Again, urgent surgery was needed to clean and drain the abscess and Bubba is still recovering now.

Coco can’t catch a break. She too ended up with a foreign object on the top of her head, with a massive abscess and required emergency surgery. This pushed back her specialist eye surgery to fix her cherry eye and extra eye lashes, but this has occurred now. Coco’s cherry eye was so severe that the specialist surgery failed and needed to be done again this week. More unexpected costs.

These precious bulldog cases are just some examples of what we face on a daily basis (perhaps we should say hourly!)

We need to raise at least $30,000 tonight to pay off our current vet bills and make sure we can continue to be there for other bulldogs that come our way in their darkest moments.

Tonight, this is our SOS for your help. We receive no government grants or support so every dollar that you donate goes straight to those pups and dogs in need.

Just $5 from each and every one of you would get us to our goal. It’s the cost of your next cup of coffee but one that will help us so very much.

If you can please write the word DONE after you have donated and please please share this far and wide. We need the world to see what we are going through. We’re really hoping this post goes viral.

We’re really hoping and crossing everything that by morning time we will have hit our goal ###

Please help out if you can

To our loyal and new followers, this is a post we really didn’t want to write. We’ve just had a board meeting and we have no choice but to put it all on the line tonight.

It’s Bridie Smith and Jenny McDonald here, President and Vice-President of this amazing rescue - Mini’s Bulldog Rescue Club. We, with the help of many amazing volunteers have dedicated our lives to saving precious bulldogs facing their darkest hours. It’s what we do best and to be honest, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

However, tonight is the night we ask for your help. We urgently need to get the financial position of Mini’s Bulldog Rescue Club under control.

We’re asking 13 of you to kickstart our fundraiser for Patty, Coco, Bubba, Lola and Terry who all need urgent help by clicking here now: https://mbrc.giveeasy.org/help-us-in-our-time-of-need/

Our inbox has not stopped pinging and our phones have not stopped ringing over the past few weeks. Actually that is an understatement. Foster carers have had no rest. 2am emergency vet visits, difficult conversations with specialist vets, calls for help on weekends and public holidays, it has not stopped.

The vet bills have built up every day beyond what we had budgeted for and as we’re writing this we’re stressed about getting these back under control. We love what we do, we wouldn’t replace it for anything but the financial side really stresses us.

We’ve launched a number of fundraisers this year, but most haven’t met the total needed and this is stacking up, it is crunch time for Mini’s Bulldog Rescue.

It’s mostly eye specialist care and surgery that is needed. Patty and Coco have severe cherry eye, Bubba has severe entropion and Lola has an ulcer (and suspected entropion). They are all suffering from severe dry eye. And Terry needs BOAS/airway surgery. The list goes on. We need to help these bulldogs and so many more.

We’ve helped so many bulldogs this year, saved many lives, found amazing forever homes but tonight we have no choice. We desperately need these funds to continue saying YES.

Our team is dedicated. We will do whatever it takes. It’s our promise to you. We make a big difference to the life of each bulldog we help.

Tonight, we are asking for your urgent help.

We need to raise at least $25,000 to get our vet bills under control.

It’s just so important. This is our SOS for your help. We receive no government grants or support so every dollar that you donate goes straight to those pups and dogs in need.

Just $5 from each and every one of you would get us to our goal. It’s the cost of your next cup of coffee but one that will help us so very much.

If you can please write the word DONE below after you have donated and please please share this far and wide. We need everyone to see how hard things are for dedicated rescues like us.

We're really hoping and crossing everything that by morning time we will have hit our goal ### Let’s do this for Patty, Coco, Bubba, Lola & Terry and all those bulldogs that will need our help in the future.
