🐍 RIVERINA SNAKE CATCHER – WAGGA WAGGA 🐍

We attended a premises on Pearson Street, Wagga Wagga, after a snake was spotted while some clean-up work was underway.

It was initially believed to be a Red-bellied Black Snake, but upon arrival we located a Brown Snake amongst the timber and debris.

The snake was quickly and safely captured and relocated, allowing the clean-up to continue. 🐍

Shout out to Snake Catchers NSW for the recommendation for today’s catch.

🌤️ With spring just around the corner, snakes are already starting to show themselves around the Riverina.

If you’re cleaning up around the yard, sheds, timber piles or other stored materials, take that little bit of extra caution. Stay alert, wear appropriate footwear and gloves, and never put your hands somewhere you can’t clearly see.

🐍 RIVERINA SNAKE CATCHER – JUNEE 🐍

We attended a home in Junee after this juvenile Brown Snake was spotted coming out from a retaining wall.

When we arrived, the little fella was still out enjoying some afternoon sun, which made for a quick and safe capture. Also thank you for keeping an eye on the snake (from a safe distance) while we were in the drive over.

The snake was then relocated away from the property and out of harm’s way. 🐍

With snakes already starting to make an appearance, it’s a good reminder to keep an eye around retaining walls, gardens and other areas that can provide shelter.

🐍 RIVERINA SNAKE CATCHER – BRUCEDALE 🐍

Attended a home in Brucedale for a Brown Snake that had been spotted out in the garden.

By the time I arrived, the snake had curled back up underneath a rock.

For the safety of everyone involved — people, pets and the snake — it was decided that relocation was the safest option. The snake was safely removed and relocated away from harm. 🐍🌿

Even though we’re still in winter, snakes are already starting to make an appearance on suitable days, so it pays to stay aware around the yard.

🐍🎒 ROXIE’S READY FOR SCHOOL! 🎒🐍

Our pet Darwin Carpet Python, Roxie, has decided she’s had enough of staying home and is trying to sneak into the school uniform to head out for the day! 😂

Not sure she’ll fit in the backpack… or what the teachers will think! 🤣🐍

Looks like someone is keen for a little adventure! ❤️

🐍 Brown Snake Relocation – Kapooka 🐍

Today, Riverina Snake Catcher attended a property in Kapooka after reports of a Brown Snake. When first spotted, the snake was out in the open before making its way into a pile of fallen timber, where it sought shelter. Due to its location and the potential risk to people nearby, the snake was safely captured and relocated to suitable habitat away from residential areas.

It has certainly been an early start to the 2026/27 snake season, with call-outs already beginning across the Riverina. As the weather continues to warm, snake activity will only increase.
