A dog’s body language depends on both the dog and the moment.
Licks, jumping up, even rolling over for a belly rub—these can be ways dogs ask for more connection, or ways they try to manage space. The same gesture can mean different things in different situations.
With our own dogs, we have the gift of knowing them best. Staying curious and gently noticing their cues helps us build even more trust.
With dogs who don’t know us yet, it’s okay to slow down and give them time. A little extra care goes a long way.
Sometimes, misunderstandings happen—especially when signals are mixed. Bites often come from confusion, not a lack of love.
Learning how dogs communicate helps us listen better, respond more kindly, and build stronger bonds with every furry friend we meet. ♥️
