Why do we desex pets? Desexing your pets eliminates the risk of testicular cancer in males and diseases of the ovaries and uterus in females. Undesexed cats and dogs are also more likely to escape yards and roam in search for a mate.
Why do we recommend pre anaesthetic blood work prior? this helps assess your pet's overall health and suitability for anaesthesia. It can identify potential issues with organ function, particularly the liver and kidneys, which are crucial for processing anaesthetic drugs. These tests can also detect other abnormalities, like anemia or infection, that might affect the anaesthetic procedure.
Call us today on 3200 6045 to book in a desexing procedure.

Meet Ebonie and Mitzy, 2 lovely sisters who came in for a routine dental clean. For both Ebonie and Mitzy, dental x-rays were taken to give us a better understanding on what is happening beneath the gum line, in their case their teeth under the gums were perfect. Both pooches had some mild calculus build up which under general anaesthesia, we were able to safely and thoroughly remove the plaque and calculus using a dental scaler, followed by a polish to smooth the tooth surfaces and help prevent future build-up.
Did you know even mild calculus (tartar) build-up on your dog’s teeth can lead to more serious dental issues if left untreated?
Your pet’s dental health is just as important as yours – regular checks and cleanings can make a huge difference in preventing pain, infection, and tooth loss.

📅 If you notice bad breath, yellow/brown staining, or your dog seems uncomfortable eating, it might be time for a dental check!

📞 Call us today to book a consultation and keep those tails wagging and teeth sparkling!

Today we have a family who came in for surgery, one pet was in clinic for a general health check only to find out the pet hasn't been eating as much as usual. Upon further investigation by Dr Claire, showed our 4 legged friend had a slab fracture which refers to a type of tooth fracture where a piece of the tooth, often a larger section, breaks off. This commonly occurs on the upper carnassial teeth (the large teeth at the back of the mouth used for chewing) when dogs bite down on hard objects like bones or stones. These fractures can expose the sensitive pulp of the tooth, leading to pain and potential infection. Our teeth are now nice and clean with this painful tooth removed. Back to happy eating and a healthy doggyo 🐾🐕
