Big shout out to all at The Ranch, particularly Amanda for being so welcoming to the cats, kittens and volunteers running the adoption event there yesterday. Come to The Ranch Kitten Adoption

Sunday 27th April 11am till 3pm
The Ranch Hotel 108 Herring Rd, North Ryde

Have a fabulous family meal while selecting a new forever family member.

There will be a variety of over 10 kittens and a few cats. There is also free face painting for all

WLPA volunteers will be there to tell you all about the cats and advice on how to best settle them in with their new families. This is in addition to ongoing phone support and a full health care package.

Ranch Style Kitten Adoptions

Sunday 27th April 11am till 3pm
The Ranch Hotel 108 Herring Rd, North Ryde

WLPA are really excited to be invited to The Ranch Hotel for the first time and will be bringing at least ten kittens and adults there, all ready for their new homes. Unless she is adopted before, that this includes the fluffy kitten pictured and her two fluff ball siblings. There will also be a couple of adult cats, for those who prefer the more sedate companion, as well as rabbits.

Happy Easter everybody! During this extended break, hard working employees are working behind the scenes tirelessly to find cats such as Rusty their forever homes. If you or people you know are looking to add a cat to their family, then there's no better time to share the joy then this Easter break! WLPA will be open during Easter Sunday & Saturday from 11am-1pm, as well as being open from 12am-6pm in the following days. We'd love to see you there!

If not, donating to the WLPA is a way to ensure that we can continue supporting cats in need of a home for many Easters to come, and a way to share the love and joy of the season to our furry friends in need.❤️

Boarding for Easter or other times

WLPA is able to offer boarding in a separate part of the building, for your cats this school holiday. We are also very experienced with and accepting rabbits.

Your precious one will be lovingly cared for by people who are involved with WLPA, because they are passionate about improving the lives of animals. We also have decades of experience with animals and an on call vet, to ensure your cat or rabbit get the best and safest of care. WLPA are flexible so your little one can get the care most individually suited to them. For example we can supply all meals but if you prefer, you may bring their food and or treats.

Rates currently start at $25 a day but that does increase in peak times such as Easter, to $35 a day.

Kings Cross Kitten Adoption Event

On Saturday 12th April 7, 8.30am – 2pm

There will be a wide choice of kittens and some equally wonderful cats. We will also with cooler weather now be hoping to bring a rabbit or two as well.

Meet Sunny about 9 weeks old, rescued from Westfield car park in Liverpool and with a very sunny personality and energy enough to keep the kids entertained. Muffin was saved by a cat rescuer who after meeting him has is now a firm fan of rabbits, due to his lovely friendly sweet nature

All health checked and vet treated, friendly and house trained

This little kitten has had to be rescued twice. First by a lovely young lady who let the pregnant Mum give birth in her home. Then a month latter from her boyfriend who wanted the mum and four babies left behind when they moved.

No to Mass Cat Killing

WLPA was invited to send two representatives to the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into Cat Management. For more information regarding this please go to https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/committees/inquiries/Pages/inquiry-details.aspx?pk=3011 -hearingsandtranscripts

There you can access the WLPA submission, along with some good quality ones from WIRES, RSPCA, Dr Jacquie Rand BVSc, Animal Liberation and the Animal Defenders Office. These provide a wealth of information as to the nature of the problems and potential solutions.

Some of the main issues under examination include cat containment which WLPA strongly favours but does not support its compulsory introduction, as this would lead to mass killing and cruel detention of cats in NSW. WLPA opposes the mass slaughter of what is referred to as feral cats often in an effort to demonise cats who live on the margins. WLPA instead proposed trails autoimmune contraception and assisting wild life by stopping habitat destruction, which is thought to be a much greater cause of harm to native animals than cats.
It was also emphasized that particularly with urban cat colonies, it was the humans (who dumped them there) rather than the cats that were real problem

National Pet Day

PetO is celebrating Nations Pet Day this weekend and asked WLPA to be part of this exciting event at the Randwick and Lane Cove stores. There will be coloring in for children, giveaways and more.

WLPA will have just amazing cats, kittens and rabbits there all available for adoption. That includes this little kitten named Cuddles for obvious reasons.

Can You Do A Sun Dance for the WLPA Kittens?

Sunny and half a dozen of his kitten mates and some of their mums, will be there to meet you and see if you are the right family, for them.

Thanks to all the people who generously donated, the two magnificent adopters, volunteers Anita & Ace (definitely an A team, if ever there was one), and to Organic Food Market for having us as part of this wonderful event. Thanks to all the other stall holders and locals who have made us so welcome and asked us to come back.

WLPA will be back for this week only, as we are booked into PetO Randwick and Lane Cove in early April. There will be magnificent kittens for you to consider as your new family member.
