GREAT interview and a little perspective of what our team faces daily.

How many times have we heard, you only care about the money, don't you care about animals.. OMG this is so far from reality and people need to remember we are doing our best and we can only do so much.

We learned today another vet in the greater Melbourne area took their life and it breaks our hearts.

Please be kind

09/07/2021

We would like to advise our clients if you feed ANY RAW MEAT diets and your pet is showing any signs of been unwell please seek veterinary attention immediately.

A cluster of cases of acute hepatopathy (liver failure) in Victorian dogs fed fresh pet meat has recently been identified by the PetFAST system. This is being investigated as a potential pet food-associated adverse event, but we have not yet identified a definitive causal link.

Any dogs that have eaten fresh pet meat (especially if sourced from Victoria) and have sudden onset of vomiting, loss of appetite, excessive thirst, or jaundice should be taken to your veterinarian without delay. Your veterinarian will be able to examine your dog and do blood tests to investigate further.

Veterinarians who see potential cases should log these via PetFAST.

08/07/2021

Hi we wanted to pass this on to our clients.

Not directly in our local area but we currently do have a patient displaying these symptoms and they feed their dog a raw pet meat diet. The Australian Veterinary Association has issued a public notice to be on alert for symptoms in any dogs that are fed a raw pet meat diet sourced in Victoria. If your pet is unwell with any vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, inappetance and is fed a diet consistent with this, please seek veterinary attention.

It is with a heavy heart we let our clients know our beautiful Murf has crossed Rainbow bridge to join our Harry.💔🐈‍⬛🐈

Murf was a special little man who spread his joy to clients and patients?? but most of all to the staff.
He was great personality who loved to chat, steel food, get in the way - he always had this uncanny knack of appearing when we least needed him to stir up the dogs.
Most of all he kept us company at lunch or in the office.
He always made a point of either sitting on the paper work I was reading or sit right in front of the computer screen or lay on my keyboard. ###xx He always greeted me with a big mow and run to my office every day.

Unfortunately, Murf had a aortic thromboembolism ( saddle thrombus), he was paralysed and in extreme pain. Due to his pre existing heart disease his prognosis was extremely poor and we opted to say goodbye.

Thankyou to our beautiful staff, I know we will all miss his little antics and chats ###🐾

Goodbye Murf, Murf man, Man, Murf the smurf, boyfriend. 😪💔🐾🐈‍⬛

Who doesn't love to receive a beautiful bunch of flowers! Cat owners please be aware:

Lilies (Lilium spp and Hemerocallis spp) are extremely toxic to cats and can kill them. The entire plant is toxic. Ingesting any part of the plant can cause complete kidney failure in 36-72 hours. The toxicity may occur by ingestion of, or by mouthing, very small amounts of lily material.
🐾❤️
Owners should make sure their cats never have access to Lilies of any kind.

Symptoms include:

Vomiting (often contains pieces of lily) and,
Signs associated with kidney failure including disinterest in food, lethargy, depression and no urination.
If your cat has had access to a lily plant take them to your nearest vet immediately (even if you didn’t see your cat contact the plant or if you just suspect they may have had access to lilies).

The key to successful treatment is early recognition of possible ingestion and veterinary management of the ensuing kidney failure.🐾❤️🐱
