Keysborough Veterinary Practice has provided veterinary care to Keysborough and the surrounding suburbs since 1988. The clinic is purpose built and fully equipped, but the most important part of our practice is our people. Our dedicated team of veterinarians, nurses and receptionists are committed to making your trip to the vet as positive an experience as possible for the whole family, both 2 and

4-legged. Our aim is to help you enjoy life with your pets, by providing a low stress and welcoming place to help you with all life stages of your pet. We provide personalised care tailored to you and your pet, whether it be an emergency presentation, wellness care, or advice on a new addition to the family. Compassion, understanding and a commitment to client education compliment our exceptional veterinary services.

What happens when your pet consumes something they shouldn't?

As described in a previous post, we try to deliver emetic protocols if we're within the timeframes for success, but unfortunately sometimes we're not.

If vomiting doesn't get your pet to bring up the foreign body, sometimes an exploratory laparotomy surgery is necessary.

Here you can see an x-ray that clearly shows some things that don't belong in the Gastrointestinal tract.

Then you can see once they've been removed.

Thankfully this pet had a positive outcome and we're very glad that they are feeling much better.

💉BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS 💉

They're not something we do everyday, so we don't have bags on hand.

We do however have a handful of blood donors that help us save lives.

🔬WELCOME BACK TO UNDER THE MICROSCOPE🔬

Today we bring you.....urine

Urine can be tested for signs of infection. Under the microscope we can see this neutrophil (a puss cell) doing its best to consume and destroy the invading bacteria

Also kind of just looks like some purple dots right...?

That's why it's so important that we have our trained staff to interpret the cells under the microscope.
