There’s something about winter light.
It rolls in gently, wraps around you like a blanket, and makes everything feel a little slower, a little softer. Adelaide comes alive with green, and the cold has a way of nudging us closer; hands tucked into pockets, cosy scarves and jackets, snug little moments as a family.

These are some of my favourite days to photograph. No rush, no harsh sun, just you and your little world, wrapped up in the season.

Well hello there! I’m Dani, I’m a lifestyle family photographer with a big ol' soft spot for pets. I create natural, heartfelt portraits that celebrate the unique bond between people and their animal family.

I’ve been in love with photography since 2008, and over time, I realised my true passion is capturing real moments, especially the quiet, funny, chaotic, loving ones between pets and their people.

The name Hound In Hand is a little nod to the idea that pets are truly part of the family; always by your side, always in hand (even when they’re 40kg of chonk). This biz is built on love, connection, and storytelling.

I adore hearing about your pet’s quirks, love languages, and weird little habits; and then turning those stories into timeless images that feel like you.

Neutrals and earthy tones always look great. They let your dog stand out and photograph beautifully in natural light. Comfort is key. Choose outfits you can move in, sit in, and snuggle your pup in. That's all there is to it 😊

Question! What's the best way to greet an over excited dog?

Don't! Let them calm down first. It can be tempting to match their energy but dogs learn best when we reward the behaviour we want to see. Ignore the jumping and spinning. Wait for paws on the floor, soft eyes, and a relaxed body. Then give all the love.

Why do our dogs follow us everywhere?
Simply; it means you’re their person. Dogs are pack animals and when yours follows you from room to room it’s not just habit. It’s love, safety, and a desire to be near their favourite human. It’s how they show affection and loyalty without saying a word.
