Happy Vet Nurse Day! 🐾
Today we celebrate our incredible veterinary nurses — the compassionate, skilled, and hardworking heroes behind every wagging tail and purring patient. 💚
Thank you for everything you do, every single day. We couldn’t do it without you!

🪶 Helping our feathered neighbours!

This little magpie was brought in after being found weak and struggling to eat. Our team gave it a full check-up, including X-rays — and discovered worms living inside its mouth.

These parasites can affect wild birds when they pick up contaminated food or water, making it painful to eat and leaving them malnourished. Luckily, we were able to treat the infection and give this magpie the care it needed to get back on its feet (or wings!). 💚
At Sydney Animal Hospitals, we’re proud to help care for our local wildlife — from magpies to possums and everything in between.

🥫 Violet vs the aluminium can!
Violet’s mum rushed her into our Norwest clinic after she tore into an aluminium can.
An X-ray later and… let’s just say she’d definitely exceeded her recommended daily dose of aluminium 🩻👀
Can you spot the extra foreign body hiding in her X-ray?
Violet’s feeling much better now — but we’re betting she’ll think twice before snacking on cans again! 💜🐾

🌊 Meet Dr. Clara – our newest Beaches vet!
Hi, I’m Clara 👋 Originally from England, I studied at the Royal Veterinary College and spent the first few years of my career working in busy 24-hour hospitals across Norfolk and London. After some travelling last year, I made the move to the Northern Beaches for a change of lifestyle — and I haven’t looked back!
Since joining the Sydney Animal Hospitals Beaches team, I’ve loved becoming part of both the clinic family and the local community. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary practice, with a particular interest in surgery, emergency work, and end-of-life care. I also have a real soft spot for Westies, black cats, and any cat with a little spice 🐾
Outside of work you’ll usually find me in the water surfing or swimming, or exploring more of this beautiful country 🇦🇺.
We’re so excited to have Dr. Clara on the team — be sure to say hello when you’re in next! 💙

Carolyn has been bringing her pets to Sydney Animal Hospitals for over 20 years. She says our friendly and helpful staff give her the confidence to leave her cats in our care when she’s away — knowing they’ll be loved and looked after just like at home. 💙

As we celebrate 35 years of caring for Sydney’s pets, we’re so grateful for clients like Carolyn who have been part of our journey. Here’s to many more years of looking after furry family members! 😺🐶

Franklin came in for his post-op check after being desexed by Dr Ben Mills — and he’s already wagging his tail, ready for walkies!

Did you know desexing your dog can:
✔️ Reduce the risk of testicular cancer and prostate disease
✔️ Prevent roaming and reduce aggressive behaviours
✔️ Help them live a longer, healthier life

Franklin’s all set for new adventures — is your pup protected too?

Meet Limo the cat
This curious kitty recently came in for an emergency exploratory surgery after an intestinal obstruction. What did we find? A love heart–shaped toy on a string! ❤️🐾

Thankfully, Limo is recovering well — but it’s a big reminder of how important it is to keep an eye on what our pets are playing with. Even the cutest toys can sometimes cause big trouble inside little tummies! 💕
