After a long time out of the arena, Darko and I ventured to ‘our local’ … the Technado Mildura Show Horse Section for some dressage, and for something different also participated in the breeds section. The big boy was a such a legend, and tried his hardest all weekend … very blessed indeed.

The weather was perfect, as was the company … so good the see some friends out and about with their beautiful horses 🦄

A massive ‘thank you’ the hardworking organisers and volunteers who had the very busy day running like clockwork, and were super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Such a big job, you really are the lifeblood of rural shows. Well done and many thanks … you guys are the best 🙌

The weather gods were smiling upon us this weekend for the Lizzy Ritchie Equine Coaching clinic … two perfect spring days of the best Riverland riding weather ☀️🌹

Thanks to all of the riders and ponies (and mums) for coming along, great to see the progress in them all. Lots of smiles all round and happy horses as well 🦄

Good luck to those competing at Mildura Show next week, certainly looking the goods this weekend 🙌👏🏻

Lizzy Ritchie Clinic 11 and 12 October. Sessions available in groundwork, liberty or dressage.

Lizzy is also very skilled in Dressage Test riding and will be working on dressage tests with riders competing at Mildura Show the follow week. If you’d like to turn those 6’s into 7’s or 8’s, come along for a dressage critique that will help get you there.

Individual - $110 (your choice of lesson)
Shared dressage lesson - $80
Group of three $70 (groundwork or poles, 1 hour)

As most of you know, Darko has quite severe (according to the x-rays) Kissing Spine. He was non symptomatic, if it weren’t for the X-rays we’d not even know he had the condition. Our fabulous vet advised against surgery, instead opting for a strengthening rehab plan.

Over the past year, with the support of Lucy Williams BHSI Equestrian, Rivalé Equine and Lizzy Ritchie Equine Coaching, we have been working on rehab and strengthening him to be able to continue on his ridden journey.

After a ‘bucket list’ weekend with the utterly incredible Manolo Mendez, Lizzy and I have been building on Manolo’s feedback and coaching to further help Mr Darko. It’s been a journey indeed, but well worth it with so many lessons learned and many many positives. See Lizzy video ❤️

Thanks to Roseworthy vets for the advice not to undertake surgery, and all those involved in the big fellas journey thus far, it certainly does take a village 🙏❤️😘
