🐾 ELLIE PROGRESS UPDATE 🐾

After another visit to the vet yesterday, Ellie’s wound has been cleaned up and her stitches removed. Her leg was strapped and splinted to encourage her to start putting some weight on it and using it properly.

Her first few steps were a little haphazard, but with time, patience and practice, she should soon get the hang of it. After a big day of poking and prodding, she was understandably ready for a well-earned rest—and plenty of snacks! 💜

Ellie still has a long road ahead of her. One leg has now been operated on and is healing, but she still has her second major surgery to come. By the time her journey is complete, her surgeries and associated care will total approximately $10,000.

Thank you again to everyone who supported Ellie through our fundraiser. Your generosity has helped make this care possible, and we’re so grateful to have you all cheering her on. ❤️

Happy Tails🐾

Remember Silvey, who was found in a car engine bay—underweight, covered in grease and suffering from ringworm?

We’re so happy to announce that, after a few months of TLC, she has found her forever home! ❤️

A friend of her foster carer fell completely in love with her, and Silvey is now off to live her best life, travelling around Australia in a Transit van. 🚐🐾

Despite everything she’s been through, Silvey has blossomed into a confident, calm and loving girl. We couldn’t be happier for her—and we’re especially thrilled that she’ll be staying in the PCR extended family. ❤️

Happy forever, beautiful Silvey! 🥰

💜 COMMUNITY HELPING COMMUNITY – A VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! 💜

After tallying up the results of all our hard work at Saturday’s Bunnings BBQ, we are SO HAPPY and incredibly proud to announce that, with the wonderful support of our community, Peninsula Cat Rescue is able to donate $1,000 to Mornington Moggies Rescue to help towards beautiful Ellie’s very large veterinary bills. 🐾❤️

This is what community is all about…… coming together, working hard and helping where help is needed most. Every sausage sold, every donation made, every volunteer who gave their time, and every person who stopped by to support us on Saturday has helped make this possible. 🌭💜

Ellie has been through so much, and her veterinary care is helping to give her the chance of a better, more comfortable and pain-free life, with improved movement and mobility.

We couldn’t be prouder that the hard work of our volunteers and the generosity of our supporters means we can extend a helping paw to another local rescue and a beautiful cat who needs it. 🐱🐾

❤️ TODAY IS THE DAY – LET’S HELP BEAUTIFUL ELLIE! ❤️🐾

The BBQ is firing up TODAY at Bunnings Hastings, and this one is for a VERY special cause! 🌭🐱

From 9am–4pm, the Peninsula Cat Rescue crew will be serving up plenty of delicious sausages, and 50% of our BBQ profits will be donated to Mornington Moggie Rescue to help beautiful little Ellie with her ongoing veterinary care. 💕

Ellie came into care at just 8 weeks old, initially suspected to have swimmer syndrome. As she grew, it became clear that she had more complicated issues affecting both of her back legs.

Now 11 months old, this gorgeous girl is one determined little fighter! 💪🐾 She loves everyone she meets and certainly isn’t shy about letting you know exactly what she thinks! 😹❤️

Ellie has already undergone her first major leg surgery, costing an enormous $5,100, and she still has a long road ahead before she’s ready for surgery on her other leg.

🐾 BBQ FOR A VERY SPECIAL CAUSE – HELPING BEAUTIFUL ELLIE! 🐾

This Saturday 15th August, from 9am–4pm, Peninsula Cat Rescue will be firing up the BBQ at Bunnings Hastings and this BBQ is a little extra special. 🌭❤️

50% of our rescues profits from the day will be donated to Mornington Moggie Rescue to help beautiful Ellie on her journey towards straighter legs and a life with as little pain as possible.

Ellie came into care at just 8 weeks old, initially suspected to have swimmer syndrome. After being assessed by Vets, it became clear that things were a little more complicated. As she grew, further issues with both of her rear legs were discovered.

Now 11 months old, Ellie is one determined little lady! 💕 She loves everyone she meets, although she certainly isn't afraid to let you know when she doesn't like something! 😹

Ellie has recently undergone the first of her major leg surgeries, costing $5,100 and there's still a long road ahead before she's ready for round two and surgery on her right leg.

For any rescue, a veterinary bill of this size is enormous.

At Peninsula Cat Rescue, we're not only passionate about helping the cats in our own care. We believe in supporting all cats in need and the rescue community that supports us too. 🐱🤝🐱
