This week we say goodbye to our Scientific Officer, Tom Darlington.

Tom first joined Scone Equine Hospital in 2017 as a lab technician one day per week, while balancing his studies in veterinary nursing. Over the years, he became a permanent member of the laboratory team, progressing to the role of Scientific Officer in 2020.

During his time at SEH, Tom has valued working alongside a great team and especially enjoyed microbiology, culturing samples and identifying bacteria. His passion for science now leads him in a new direction as he begins full-time study in marine science.

We thank Tom for his contribution over the past 7 years and wish him well for his next endeavour. 🌟

Ambulatory Veterinarian Dr Candice Massingham assessing a horse presenting with signs of eye discomfort at our Outpatients Service building at the hospital.

After a thorough examination, she diagnosed a melting corneal ulcer.

To support intensive medical treatment, an eye treatment tube was placed, allowing for frequent and stress-free administration of medication directly to the eye. 👁️
